Dantonio was the genius behind MSU's defenses. He was Tressel's boy where he was DC at both Youngstown and OSU. Narduzzi is just another Wanny without the nauseating Yinzer dialect. Decent coordinator, not cut out to be head coach.
Even more good news for the pitters today: I haven't heard of a single murder in Oakland yet today and the sewers haven't overflowed into the streets yet. Of course the day isn't done but good news so far.

It is amazing that no one brings up the fact that Nardog was hearlded as one of the top defensive minds in the Country but fields one of the worst defenses in CFB (and getting worse)...testament to the fact that sPitt is still irrelevant on the National stage.

if PSU wins by 100 next year, it still won't diminish the fact that Pitt kept PSU out of the National Championship playoff this year.

At least we had the chance, at the end of the day that's better than not having it. You are a prime example of why pitt will always be pitt, because fans like you are more obsessed with us than your own team and care more about our demise than the success of yours .

Glad you'll take joy in it for a while because from a PSU fan's perspective the disappointment of not making the playoffs lated for about 8 seconds.....and the disappointment of losing to Pitt is a distant memory given how the season played out.
If you'd rather have a win over PSU and Pinstripe Bowl bid vs. a 6-6 team as your prize as opposed to a conference title and Rose Bowl....hey, more power to you.

You would first have to convince me that even if we would have beat Pitt we still would have gotten into the playoffs over OSU with a 39 point loss to Michigan. I'm not convinced that would have happened because the committee seemed determined to get OSU into the playoffs.
A little objectivity here if possible.....first of all IMO PSU should be in the playoffs due to
your Big 10 title (no small accomplishment). Our win over you was big for us as was our win over Clemson. Your win over OSU was as big, and in your eyes bigger than our two wins. Your comebacks..Wisky, OSU, Minnesota, Indiana (and almost against us) were amazing. Right now you are recruiting at an incredible pace. The difference between the two programs is PSU is getting Four star guys with some Three stars. Pitt is getting three star guys with a few Four stars. Our rosters reads the same way...so it's easy to see you have more talent, and are recruiting better. However, that doesn't put you light years ahead of us in talent. You will definitely be favored next year, but we'll show up and Narduzzi ( you guys hate him lol) will have em ready.
Some recent bad news at Pitt over our loss of Canada (OC).....the very next day after loss we signed the transfer QB we wanted from USC.HE stated he came because of Narduzzi, the OC loss didn't affect his decision (as this board said it would). BTW, our last two QB transfers did very well at Pitt...Peterman this year and Savage (now in NFL back up QB for O'Brian ).
The other verbal yesterday was a straight A engineering student who chose Pitt
over Alabama, Oklahoma, Auburn, Tennessee and just about everyone else. Your
recruiting of course is even better but we're doing ok. It's never mentioned here, but we do have a few verbals (OL from NJ, and TE..Reeves) "who chose Pitt over PSU. Does it match PSU's class, not even close...but it's not the "dumpster" described here. LOL

Max Browne was not a very good qb at USC. In fact, he barely played. You should be disappointed you didn't get Zaire. Browne will be ripped apart all year on your board next year
Charles Reeves did not have a committable offer by the time he committed to Pitt. That's a fact. They wanted him to wait and see if they had room at the end. You can bet that might get revisited should Gesicki leave for that draft
For Dewey and quite a few other Pitt fanatics, this means yet another national championship.
The committee was more concerned with Michigan loss than the 3 pt loss and last minute interception to salvage the win by Pitt. The Pitt loss did not keep PSU from the playoff. Pitt fans need to get over themselves!
Good point, but here's how we look at it....Peterman just like Browne at USC, didn't do much at Tennessee; he came to Pitt and does great given our QB situation. The transfer before him, Savage....came to Pitt after doing very little at Arizona ST. and becomes a starter and also does great, (now in the NFL). Despite your rationale, it's reasonable that Browne, a former 5ive star out of H.S. and #1 QB in the country that year, will do as well as the two I just mentioned. Difference here....I'm looking at it through the lens of a Pitt fan, you're looking at it as a PSU fan. If the situation were reversed, I'd probably do the same as you. LOL
As far as Reeves, your rationale is a good one. Let's see what happens. BTW we both
have poached from each other.....Givens, a Pitt verbal, flipped to PSU when our
coach left. Mathews, last year flipped to Pitt when we offered as a WR as opposed to PSU offering at DB (given your talent at WR and our weakness at WR, it made sense).
Most of us at Pitt realize you are doing better at recruiting....hell, you're out recruiting just about everyone in the nation. We need a transfer here and there to try to balance
the scales. You're in the top five nationally...we beat the Big 10 champs AND the ACC champs this year. You're in the Rose Bowl (were cheated out of the playoffs IMO).

It's truly pathetic to enjoy what your team hypothetical stopped another team from accomplishing, rather than what your own team (didn't) accomplish. Especially when PSU handed Pitt the game twice in the last two minutes.
PSU is ahead of schedule, but not ready for Alabama thanks to the unjust sanctions. It's a good thing PSU is headed to the rose bowl. So if you think Pitt stopped PSU from being slaughtered... then Pitt did PSU a huge favor.
