Sounds like Narduzzi isn't thrilled with this whole "recruiting" thing.

Nardog....

let's hope he stays at Pitt forever. He is easy to recruit against and I fear they may offer the job to JoMo if they get rid of pat.
If JoMo had no interest in Purdue he sure as hell would have none in Pitt. He will go where he has a chance to be successful if he leaves and that place is not Crapsburgh.

1. I have PSU in my ID.

2. Imagine that I just signed up on this site today.

3. Imagine this is my first post on this board.

4. Here is my first post:

Hey, we lost to them last year. I think we should worry about beating them this year instead of making fun of them.

How did I do?

5. Remember to always say "we" in the post

Life long football coaches are generally not well heeled financially. We tend to focus on the Meyers, Sabans and Franklins of the industry. I can tell you there are thousands of very good lifers out there who are nomads and labor in obscurity waiting for a big break.
If you are fortunate enough to attract a big money offer, my contention is that first and foremost you would look at the lifetime security it provides for you and your family. Some of these contracts, must look like hitting powerball. Being successful is always a goal......but a guy like JoeMo, will reach the point where he doesn't want to worry about retirement, perhaps college for his kids, a paid up mortgage and a daughters wedding.

So true. Too bad right around a million per year as a offensive coordinator at a big power 5 school can't give you a nice retirement, college for your kids, a paid mortgage, and a daughters wedding. And to think some of us out here have to do it on $65,000 a year.

My point is that many do not make that. Do you know what a D3 coach is paid? How many years are spent as a grad assistant eating pizza.. Its like complaining about a major league star's salary when the reality is thousands labor in the minor leagues and never get a taste of big money. A coaches star can fall from the sky quickly. If PSU's offense falters, JOMO will have lost his chance at the big bucks. Its not my fault or his that you only qualify for 65k a year.

You so silly. Don't forget some of us on here actually know who you are! I do get your point though.

Hmmm.... imagine you sniffing around a Narduzzi thread on a Penn State message board. Hey, what's the scoop in East Lansing? Last summer you said Narduzzi was the man after your boy Dantonio..... that still the thinking up there?

I sure hope Narduzzi is Dantonio's replacement. Besides giving pitt another black eye, this will result in Michigan State replacing Rutgers as the doormat of the Eastern Division.

You know the old saying: "Slim and None, and Slim's on his way out of town."

No, honestly, I don't know, but it's been a wild time here for the past eight months. I wouldn't rule it out, but more than likely not now. I think that's where this talk about "The League" is coming from. Just casting lines.

i totally agree. their problems are really profound. When I was a kid, Pitt had players like Huge Green, Dorsett, Marino...they've had so many great NFL stars. it is amazing that they've lost their way so badly. I attach it to sharing an off campus stadium with an NFL team. Their students, comparatively, just don't care. That drags down the atmosphere, attendance, revenue, game day experience etc.

To fix that problem will cost $400m. Will they pony up? Just a mess, really.

Pitt has rich alums that have an unrealistic view of their sports programs. Pitt was good back in the day when the WPIAL produced more big time talent, which is no longer the case. The rich alums that control the programs have no patience. Pitt has the potential to compete at a high level every once in a while, but not every year. They should not have fired Wanny or forced Dixon out. Instead they hire transient coaches that have no interest in building the program long term. They also could have hired Bradley who has strong Pittsburgh roots and would have recruited well and stayed long term.
