Largely because the vast majority of people are too damn lazy and stupid for anything else.

This case at least as far as The Commonwealth OAG, has never been about child abuse. The priority has been to protect the movers and shakers loyal to the syndicate. I found it interesting that the entire case is about a community caring more about football culture than the safety of children. Then who does the state trot out-- OK, maybe waddle is a more suitable term-- to try the case? A blob whose most notable life achievement is that her father's brother was a pro football player/coach/commentator. I saw, heard, or read nothing about any cases she tried.
