So even DT should take an Olympic redshirt this year?If you are talking about former PSU guys as well, then I like DT's chances more than Lee's. Wasn't sure if you were only talking guys on current roster.

And if he truly values a gold medal, he should break up with his girlfriend. — Spyker... If he truly values a Gold medal over an NCAA title then he should take the ORS ...
I've read a couple of times now that "this season is Iowa's best shot at a team title." According to today's WrestleStat, PSU is projected to win the tournament by 30.5 points over 2nd place Iowa. With what could be the final season for five PSU starters AND Iowa graduating just two of their starters, we might conclude that NEXT YEAR (2021) would be the Hawkeye's (as well as other school's) best opportunity to win
Put Roar down for a 40 pt margin.Right now I'll say no way NCAA's will be a 30.5 point margin for Penn State.
Of course their chances next year are even better...….but next year isn't here. This year is their best chance at a title in many years. Are you offering 30.5 points at nationals? I think just about every fan would take the points. If you are offering......I am in for whatever amount![]()
Lol, that's how I took it too.Put Roar down for a 40 pt margin.
100% of our men's freestyle Olympic medals in 2016 were won by people who wrestled at NCAAs that year.
In fact who was the last Olympic redshirt who qualified for the team?
That was his redshirt. Barry won state titles in 78,79 and 80. Wrestled as a true frosh in 80-81. I can’t find a single college guy qualifying following an ORS. You can find plenty of guys qualifying immediately following NCAA’s with many winning medals. The last Olympic redshirt who won a medal was probably Barry Davis in '84. I say "probably" because I'm guessing. I know he redshirted that year and came back to win an NCAA title in 1985, but I'm not sure if it was an Olympic redshirt or a regular redshirt.
I don't even have a guess about who would have been the last one to make the team.
You should definitely place a bet on the 30.5 points. I expect we will win by 50+ points with 10 AAs and 6-7 guys in the finals. Will probably break Iowa's total points record easily.![]()
I understand the logic in this, but still cannot wrap my head around this simple fact. US Olympics trials are 2 weeks after NCAAs. NCAA's is brutal, 5 matches in 3 days and 3 weigh-ins. Even a minor injury at NCAAs could know you out of the Olympic trials, let alone trying to peak for two tournaments so close together. Take the Olympic redshirt.

Just off the top of my head, John Smith was NCAA and Olympic champ in 88 and Ken Chertow was 3rd at NCAA in 88 and was on the team DNP.I quickly went through the US medal winners back to '84 yesterday and didn't find anyone before Cox and Snyder in '16 who won an Olympic medal immediately after an NCAA season. Did I miss someone?
Struggling to see Lee's schedule in this article. It appears to be Iowa's schedule with a bunch of hypotheticals, conjecture, innuendo and hearsay thrown in. I don't think we know any more about his schedule now than we did before reading this.Spencer Lee’s 2020 Schedule

Well, yeah, but the title is "Spencer Lee's 2020 Schedule," not "All of the possible tournaments and dual meets Spencer Lee might wrestle in with no substantive proof whatsoever" with a subhead of "Your guess is as good as ours, please click here. "Looks like they added a few extra tournaments to his schedule as possibilities
November 15-16th – Bill Farrell (USA Wrestling)
December 20-22nd – U.S. Olympic Trials Qualifier
January 9-12th – Yasar Dogu
January 17-19th – French Grand Prix
January 23-26th – Ivan Yariguin
There should be a number of matches minimum to qualify for bigs and nationals

No. All that would do is skew incentives. There should be a number of matches minimum to qualify for bigs and nationals
Why?There should be a number of matches minimum to qualify for bigs and nationals
