I wouldn't wish that disaster on Iowa at this point. It's much more interesting with Spencer out there now. I expect to root for Spencer against all but our guy, and maybe DeSanto if they ever meet again.

Spencer seems pretty firm in his resolve to be a Hawkeye. I sure like the kid after hearing his interviews. He is going to be fun to watch these coming years.

DeSanto improved a lot over last year. However im not sure he could ever beat a healthy Spencer

If he is healthy he is a top three lock from day one. My money is in Suriano in a head to head but in Lee against everyone else.

I wouldn't put any money on him beating Spencer again. But after learning a little more about his personal story (and the way he wrestles), he's definitely somebody to cheer on. Spencer is really likeable in his own right.

I love DeSanto and his attitude. I love the way he wrestles, too. But I agree. I don't think he beats a healthy Spencer Lee. Actually, I'm 100% sure of it. That's not taking anything away from DeSanto, either. He just murdered a 4x CA state champ who is considered a blue chip recruit. Spencer Lee is simply that good when he's healthy.

The state tournament and follow-up classic match DeSanto wrestled are indicators the kid is just now coming into his own.

I have no idea how he develops in Drexel's wrestling room, but it would be cool if the trajectory continues.
