Starocci, Ball at Powerade

Ball loses 7-2 to Shaw, fhough it was 3-2 on feet with 10 sec left.

3-1 then shaw got the takedown to out of bound with 10 seconds left to make it 5-1. ball got out to make it 5-2 then went for a lat drop or something and went to his back to end the match. love the effort.

HWT: Daboe 4-1
106: Steen 5-3 over Chappell

113: McHenry and Herrera tied 1-1 after SV, into rideouts.

It will be on PCN next weekend. They always show it one week later.

ah yes, now I remember that. Perhaps the tweet did indicate that as well. I was watching football, dealing with issues on BWI boards, and posting, and may not have looked closely at the date it would be televised.

132: Hillegas 3-2 over Miller. Miller with a late T2 but got ridden out in the 2nd.

In my defense, I went back and looked at the Cedar Cliff wrestling tweet. It was posted this afternoon, and sure does seem to indicate that the broadcast would be on PCN tonight.

152: Vulakh 5-3 over Dover from St Ed's, who threw a right hook at the end.

Rutgers recruit?
Oklahoma. And if he tries taking a swing at the new guy there, it could get ugly ...

We joke, but he’s taken down some monsters this month. Nice to have him in Penn State’s Back 40 acres so to speak.
Yep -- Tan Tom's Decatur and Blair's Miller at Ironman, #6 Rundell and McHenry at Powerade. Plus a couple good PA kids (Mendez and Delaney) in winning King of the Mountain. Only loss this year by 1 pt in Ironman finals to Richie Figs.

He's a total leech on top. If there's a criticism -- he gets into a lot of low-scoring matches, kinda like Phillippi in HS, so good on top that he doesn't attack much on feet. Hopefully that's just a matter of a sophomore gaining strength and confidence as he matures.

EDIT: missed this -- he went up a weight and beat PA 3rd placer Burkholder in the dual too.

Post-tourney interview with Herrera:

He has the PSU attitude already. Drops the f** bomb at 1:45. Not worried about losing matches, he's still learning. Moved up this year, glad he doesn't have to think about cutting weight. Etc. Yes, he just beat McHenry, but he comes across as happy all the time and someone who doesn't get caught up in the moment.

He's a pretty small dude, and 125s are hard to find ... just sayin'.

he certainly bears watching. He's a 10th grader, wrestling 113. Only a combo of genetics and time will tell whether or not he'll be a college 125 lber.

His opponent in the final (Kurt McHenry) is a senior wrestling at 113. With him, the question has always been whether he'll be big enough to compete at 125 lbs. in college.

I strongly agree full court press. Let’s hope Cael and staff are aware.

I seriously doubt that Cael or any other college coach is aware of a long, lean potential 125lb lifer with skill and attitude. Why would they? I am certain he is a hidden talent......nobody watches FLO...right?

People try to it just doesn't always work.;)
