Stat on S. Toney

This kid is killing it. Just a great edge rusher. He has speed to burn.

Edit: I watched the telecast of Saturday's game on ESPN after returning home and, after this kid recorded a late sack, Herbie stated that he runs a 4.5 forty. I find that hard to believe given his size but, assuming it is true, he is simply a freak.

Absolutely LOVE this kid! Don't recall anything about his recruitment, but his first step and acceleration getting after the quarterback exhibit NFL-type talent. Can't wait for him to get bigger, stronger, and smarter!

And, that's against UM best pass blocker, Mason Cole. The kid has some serious speed off the edge, big time serious. Hope he can duplicate what he has done so far this Saturday!

IIRC many here were hard on him for some reason (didn't want to play LB, took a long time to decide, - something like that). But, he has been very impressive and his selection of #18 isn't lost on me (Bowman's number at Penn State before wearing #11).

He caused the int vs NW imo. I was surprised that he was relegated to garbage that me against UM.

Shaka was determined to play DE in college and not LB, where many colleges wanted him.
Pitt was very close to flipping him late, even making a visit to Pitt for a visit with about 1 week left until NSD. Penn State was able to hold on and is paying off.

I don’t think he was up to Pitts high standards and they told he needs to settle for Penn State

I had just turned to the wife and said "this is a good place for a Shaka Toney sighting" when he recorded that sack against Michigan....that guy is quick!
