State Champ wrestler shot by police

Initial report said shot and killed. Later reports said shot multiple times, flown to hospital, no condition given.

Bizarre story, puzzle pieces don't fit together very well. Get the feeling there's a lot more that hasn't been reported.

Regardless, hope he fully recovers and gets help for whatever caused this.

And another sad reminder that Joe was right, nothing good happens after midnight.

Police tell you to put your gun down and you don’t comply - you’re going to have a bad day.

Yeah. There has to be more than what we are getting.
And, you are right about Joe. It seems that all of those life lessons and wisdom would serve young people well if he wasn't allowed to be demonized by the Employer who he faithfully and loyally served.

Misinformation? Can you elaborate?

Initial report said killed by PSP, then it was he was shot by North Strabane officers but not mortally wounded, now he’s had multiple surgeries and will survive.

What hasn’t been debated or questioned, He was justifiably shot for drawing on an officer.

In cases like this I don't understand why they don't use tasers to incapacitate the threat.
Not sure that I understand your point entirely. Sure it would be nice if they could incapacitate the threat, but if a guy has a gun, you think the police have to bring a credible and appropriate counter. It would seem a gun would be appropriate. Do you think tasers are a fair counter to a guy with a gun?

Disclaimer - there isn't enough info in the article for me to judge what is appropriate. Feel bad for everyone involved, including the officers that fired on the kid.

I’m tired of answering this question for about 25 years now . But I’ll do it again .
1. Tasers do t always work .
2. You might miss, and if you do you don’t have time to get to your gun.
3. Every single police call has a gun involved ( the officer’s) at a minimum . If the officer is over powered he and others can be shot and killed by his gun.
4. Time. You can’t necessarily deploy a non lethal option then switch fast enough. A fast person can cover 7-10 yards in a second or so, faster than most can react and draw, aim , and shoot accurately . Not all shots hit from pistols , app 1-5-1/3 from recorded shootings.
Not all pistol wounds instantly incapacitate the bad guy.

That's a rather one sided viewpoint that ignores the other side of the story as to why you may not want to carry a chambered weapon, the accidental discharge factor. I could come up with an extensive list of accidents that involved a chambered weapon so it's not nearly as cut and dry as that video tries to make it seem, especially considering how many children are involved in accidental shootings. Unless you live or work in high crime area, leave the chamber empty, imo.

Here is the story with the official report, he drew an AR on the officers. As I noted earlier, what wasn’t debated was what he did, This should end any debate here.

I don't know how people 2nd guess things until the situation is further disclosed. This idea of using your taser when someone is jumping up and grabbing the AR-15 is ludicrous. All 3 police officers made the same decision. It's a terrible situation for everyone involved and I'm praying for the police and family and especially Logan.

If those facts are accurate, the police were certainly justified in using deadly force. Kind of ironic that they still ended up using a taser even after shooting him. He must of been really wound up on drugs to be able to resist even after getting shot multiple times.

Sad situation all the way around. What a waste of talent. Sad for the officers who had to shoot the kid. Glad he lived , hope he gets his life together.

From inside a state penitentiary, that is going to be overly difficult.

Very sad story. Hopefully Macri recovers. And given his age, has an opportunity to turn his life around. But police officers have a right to go home to their families at night.

Can't they train cops to shoot them in the hands or something? Works on TV.
That's what they did in this situation. All three cops, simultaneously, had the same idea to shoot the kid in the hands holding his weapon. That's why they had to tase him.
