Very sad story. Hopefully Macri recovers. And given his age, has an opportunity to turn his life around. But police officers have a right to go home to their families at night.

After drawing a gun on cops. I'll be shocked if he can plea out of all of the felonies. Having a felony on his record will make him toxic to most employers and to society in general. The rest of his life will be harder than it had to be.

I can't imagine being his mother. Attacked with a sword by her own son, likely saw him get shot by the cops, now gets to see his future play out in the courts in slow motion. And she'll probably be racked with guilt for not preventing it.
