The Steelers scored 3 TDs in about 5 minutes. It's now 29-20. The Steelers went for 2 after the 3rd TD and didn't make it. About 12 minutes left in the game.

And the Vikings score on a long pass. 36-20 with 11 minutes to go. 56 points in the game with about half of them in the last 5-7 minutes of clock.

Then quickly turned into spectators and watched the Vikings score another TD.

This Steelers D is historically soft.

(disclaimer: I realize the college and pro games are very different, but the fandom isn't that different)

For those who are frustrated with PSU's season, the Steelers season is what an actual bad season looks like. They are not competitive in games, look generally quite bad and there do not seem to be any answers. I would also question their effort this season.

Contrast that to PSU who is in every game, and, as I have pointed out in other threads, were one play away from winning in every game but one.

The Steelers need to rebuild.

PSU is close and just needs a few tweaks.

Vikings get the KO and drive into Steeler territory and then...throw an INT that the Steelers run back to the Vikings 20. Then the Steelers put it in the endzone and get the 2 point conversion too. 36-28 about 3-4 minutes to go. This game sucked most of the night but now it's good.

Had the Steelers not converted that into a TD there would be a lot of questions as to why the Steelers defender gave up on getting a pick six.

Steelers hold but the Vikings pin them back at the 2 yard line on the punt. 2:16 to go. Vikings lead 36-28. The Steelers have no timeouts left.

The Steelers got it down to the 12 yard line with 3 seconds left and had one play. They passed to Freiermuth and it was incomplete. Pretty exciting ending.

First time ‘muth got his hands on a ball in end zone and didn’t make the catch. Caught a TD earlier giving more than all other rookie tight ends combined.

the Steelers have guys like John Leglue and Derrek Tuszka out there, I know Tomlin says "the standard is the standard" but these guys are not legit NFL players, at least at this point

you might be able to get away with one of those type of guys but when Henry Mondeaux gets a lot of pt on the DL you are borked

This may be my imagination, but the Steelers' "comeback" seemed to have some assistance from the guys wearing the striped jerseys.

With that out of the way, the first half was the worst display of football I have seen since Pitt's glory days with Carl DePasqua at the helm.

Our own pride and joy Marcus Allen, noted field goal blocker, looked putrid on a couple plays in a row. He disappeared after that (not that he was evident while on the field).

Holy cow, they made Dalvin Cook out to be "All World". Aikman talked about the holes he ran through. Grand Canyon?

The shame here is that Ben may deserve better (he doesn't). I know that Cam Heyward deserves better. What a warrior.

Knucklehead of the year is Claypoole.

Rant over. Have a great weekend! Best TV will be Army-Navy, closely followed by women's volleyball (even without PSU's participation).

In a fit of desperation, the Steelers M Allen was moved to MLb, a position for which he is too small for. And the D was playing with several guys that thye just signed off o5her teams’ practice squads in the last two weeks. And thyenwere playing Devon Bush who has been worthless since he blew his knee last year.

Claypole was screwed on that penalty. The DB punched at the ball while he out of bounds seconds after the play. That’s what started it and they never showed that part on the replays. Shoulda been offsetting penalties. He made some great catches later on.

Steelers are the strangest, most inconsistent team I ever saw. Been that way for a couple years.

Spin

Marcus Allen is a tweener in the NFL. Not quick/fast enough to be a DB and too small to be a LB. Give him credit that he's been on the roster for so long.

Agree about the makeup of the team. Critical injuries coupled with advancing age doesn't bode well for the defense.

Young Mr. Claypool needs an attitude adjustment. His penalty in the 1st quarter was shown on tv as a taunting contact personal foul. In real life, it was a retaliation unsportsmanlike conduct. No pass from Dibbs here. Stupid and on most teams unacceptable.

His last minute "celebration" which resulted in losing precious seconds of playing time was worse. No idea of game situation? He's Antonio Brown revisited.

This team needs a makeover starting with the coaching staff.

Yeah I could not fudging believe he’s celebrating and costing the team valuable seconds in the last minute of the game. Talk about selfishness I wish the announcers had pounced on him and called him out for that!

His name is Claypool and yeah you're/they're right he needs to learn to be like Hines Ward Blade Ryner, the stiff arm comes and the whistle blows and ya robot up and cheese for the NFL Network sideline guy. He doesnt care how expensive ya lady's Fonzerreli lyger skin leather jacket is either.

Also the block whiff in the first half , was very UnHeinz like more like generic Catsup .

Question for the sports-psychology types: The Steelers got beat like Circus Ponies for a good part of the game, and were down 29-0 at one point. Then they come roaring back, and, had Friermuth been able to make that catch in triple coverage, they had a chance to tie. They overcame the blowout loss and lost in a squeaker. Question is, which is more psychologically destructive? Getting smoked by 29 or losing by 8 with a chance to tie on the last play after trailing by 29?

Yeppers on Allen. When they moved him to MLB he had to bulk up....which finished him as a safety. But still too light for MLB..

Claypool and almost the entire team needs attitude adjustments. And that is on Tomlin, Big Ben, and all the way to the Rooney’s. Some serious problems on that team.

Will be interesting to watch Tomlin after Ben is gone. Will he have more control over the team? Have more discipline on individual players? Or will it be more of the same ?
