wow...I was following on Gamecast, but gave up midway thru the 4th Quarter to do battle with the leaves and the yardSteeler D was outstanding in the 2nd half.
That was the right thing to do. If he takes a TO there, he has none when they get the ball back.Tomlin with terrible clock management at the 2 minute warning. He allows almost 10 seconds to run off the clock to get to the 2 minute warning rather than call TO. He had 3 TO’s and the 2 minute warning. I don’t understand how these “expert coaches” can make such simple mistakes.

Yeah. Ok. Always Tomlin fault. Every smart coach would have done the same.
I’m perplexed how people who consider themselves fans of he game are not comprehending the mismanaged clock situation at the 2 minute warning. It’s like watching a really bad WWE skit.
I was looking for a time out prior to the two minute warning as well.
Let’s hear your strategy I that situation? Help me make up my mind what would be the best move.
Also, how about running the ball at the 2 yard line with a time out in your pocket!
I think it was a bigger mistake going for 2 after the first TD. If they kicked an extra point a field goal would have won the game at the end. I didn't mind they didn't call a time out. 2 minutes is plenty of time to score and at least tie it up. JAX couldn't do a thing on offense in the second half. It would have been a different story if they had an offense that could score at will.I’m perplexed how people who consider themselves fans of he game are not comprehending the mismanaged clock situation at the 2 minute warning.
Agree. 2 two point conversions against that defense is wishful thinking the way they played in the first half. The decision by Tomlin go for 2 late in the third quarter trailing 16 - 6 was a bit of a head scratcher. I guess the thinking was 2 TD and 2 two point conversions would tie. I would have thought to get the extra point and you are one TD / PAT and one FG away from a lead. It seemed more likely than converting 2 two point tries the way the Steeler offense had struggled.
Thankfully, it did not matter.
Please explain to me how using a TO prior to the 2 minute warning is “wasting one” given the situation that we saw with the Steelers today. Rewatch if you must. You’ll eventually get it. He didn’t save a TO. He simply let nearly 10 seconds run off the clock before it was stopped by the 2MW.Why would he waste a timeout to save 5 second when it was 2nd down? Save the timeout. I never understood why people think you need to stop the clock 3 times prior to the 2 minute warning. Romo mad mention to with the 2 minute warning nd 3 timeouts they could have even afforded a Jacksonville first down.
The guy is 7-2-1 this season, he has the second best winning % during his time in the NFL, I am sure he knows football situations better then some stooges on a message board.

Who said I want to see Tomlin fail? Not sure why you are so defensive Nate. Do you have some sort of a man crush on MT?It all worked out so as much as you wanna see Tomlin fall, he doesn't again.. Like I said, lets see your coaching resume vs his.
Bingo. Gotta love these armchair experts. That was the right thing to do. If he takes a TO there, he has none when they get the ball back.

Yet another one who doesn’t get it. I can’t for the life of me see why this is such a hard concept for some people to grasp. Especially nfl coaches.Bingo. Gotta love these armchair experts.
Well said 2020. You nailed it. And yes, Tomlin has done a great job. However, some people think you can’t be critical while still thinking a person is a good head coach. It isn't. You call 2 timeouts before the 2 minute warning and the third timeout is the 2 minute warning and you still have a timeout. It's simple math but coaches don't seem to grasp the concept that anyone who played Madden a day in their life would. Maybe the Browns should hire Rice and just let her make those kind of decisions.
All this said, since a rough start, Tomlin has done a very good job managing this team through difficult times especially with the Bell saga but his time management has always been and likely will always be horrible.
If he takes the TO before the warning he saves 10 seconds. After the warning he saves 30 seconds.Yet another one who doesn’t get it. I can’t for the life of me see why this is such a hard concept for some people to grasp. Especially nfl coaches.

And it seems as if people cannot comprehend basic math, yourself included (no disrespect intended).Yeah It’s just basic math comprehension. Tomlin has been asked about keeping timeouts in the past. He likes to keep one on the board. That remaining timeout left a lot of options on offense. Without those options do they win? We will never know.

Please explain to me how with all 3 TO's and the 2MW at his disposal, Tomlin was saving a TO by letting 10 seconds tick off the clock to reach the 2MW. Watch the game film you have as many times as necessary. Then run the scenario over and over again in your head as many times as it takes. I'll wait for your reply. If you have an ounce of intelligence and honesty, you'll not only realize that I'm right, but you'll admit it too. Take your time.None taken. However, I have game film and results to back my argument. Unfortunately for you, there is none.

Why do you say "enough on this"? To hell with "enough", I'm starting a new thread on it.
