Stop feeding the frustratedTrolls on HR

I identified one of the a-holes over there spewing hate and my post got deleted.
Yea that dude is a real Delta Bravo
That can not be true. He is at practice every day. The Brands boys lean heavily on bp for direction and advice. Hell he was one of the few with the direct line insight to PD3 was just kicking everyone's ass in the room.

Are you telling us bp_roids is Spyker on roids? Damn who would have thunk it?

Please delete your posts or at least clean that guy's personal info out of them.

Agreed. Even as much as I dislike people on HR I am not in favor of doxxing anyone on this forum, even those I don't like.

I can't speak for everyone on this board obviously, but who bphawkeye is means nothing to me.

Well, the HR folks should be laying off Cael and PSU for a couple of days. It's Iowa State week! Dresser is getting a good old fashioned wood shed beat down by the HR faithful. That place is something else.

Yeah this should get them into big tens.....

Perhaps I can shed some light for all of you regarding where the problem lies. I first tried posting on HR, as a neutral observer as I do here, and was lambasted from all sides. I then decided to come over here as a neutral observer and I've had ZERO problems on this forum.
Well, you haven't had any problems here because all you have done is kiss PSU/BWI's ass and talked crap about HR/Iowa . That will get you a lifetime pass here. You are doing that because you just want to belong somewhere that doesn't reject you. Better off sticking to the West High Gym..;)

Says the guy who never wrestled/never attended Iowa but considers himself "one of the guys". You were looking for acceptance in life and you found it with good old HR. That says more than enough about a person. It was really interesting to read the resumes of many HR posters. It really is a bunch of guys who didn't wrestle or accomplished nearly nothing telling the world how they have been the wrestling experts all along and the rest of us just discovered the sport. I have several friends who wrestled at Iowa who do not at all share the rosy views on Brands or the state of the program, but I doubt they could post on HR without being called trolls.

I have just about finished re-reading "A Season on the Mat" about Gable's last season. Two things that stand out, back then, Iowa was a bonus point machine, lots of falls, they also shot a lot, it was expected of them....wrestle at that high pace. Funny those things do not happen consistently at Iowa anymore. I can see why the old Iowa wrestlers are not happy with Brands.

I've told you before i was raised A Jehovah's Witness by my mother and had no choice in the matter of whether i could play any sports. Unfortunately that is the reality of how i was brought up. I used to go to school early at 6am so i could wrestle with my high school team. I would tell my mom i was going in to study. Our head wrestling coach did all he could to convince my mom that wrestling was great for me and that i was good at it. My mom couldn't keep me from wrestling in P.E. while in school nor for short periods of time before and after school. I still have my 8 presidential physical fitness awards i achieved by being a determined, motivated athelete. I begged my mother numerous times to let me wrestle and play football in H.S. to no avail. A big regret in my life that i can never change.

As far as not attending the UofI, i moved out of my mom's house right after i turned 18 to get away from that control and lived on my own. Always wanted to be a Hawkeye student but unfortunately i didn't have the grades/credits to get in right of H.S. My teenage years were a very tough time. I needed money to survive on my own so i joined a trade school and became a Union Journeyman sheetmetal worker in Des Moines. I'm commercial carpenter now and have accomplished/created a lot of cool things in my short life.

Both of my Grandpa's and 2 uncle's attended Iowa and would buy me Hawkeye clothing and toys as soon as i was born. I have never known any different as far as schools to root/care for.

Before you start using my first name again and act like you know me personally i suggest you ease off. Not everyone was raised by wrestling mom and dad's or had the support to take on that challenge. Wish i did.

To be fair, all of wrestling went slow for about 15 years until Cael showed up in Happy Valley. Yes...I know there were exceptions, but by an large, wrestling was reduced to using the circle as a means of defense and risk reduction, riding, and zero action on the feet. Referees simply would not enforce stalling rules that were in place and the sport stagnated. Cael coaches his style and pushes the wrestler to take chances and score score score. Combine that with the new boundary stalling rules (where even inconsistent calling has a positive effect) and the sport is moving again. So it wasn’t just Brands falling into slow-dom, it was Lehigh, Cornell, Minnesota, name the team. Today it’s much more exciting....it’s just that TNT haven’t moved with it. They are outstanding coaches. I remain confused only by the apparent lack of interest to have wrestler s push the pace. I would not want to see them gone, tho.

Please accept my sincere apology. Your story is actually quite amazing. I will not personally attack you again, but may attack some of your ideas. I'm very impressed in your passion for the sport despite not getting the chance to be a wrestler yourself. Please consider this a very sincere peace offering. I think sometimes I am guilty of not walking in another man's shoes before sticking my fat foot in my fat mouth. We have walked some of the same turf my friend.

Thank you for the forgiving heart Turk. I can't wait for you to have that little bundle of Cyclone loving joy.;) Never say never- I was raised by a huge Hawkeye fan and ended up wrestling at ISU. My dad plugged his nose and donned the Cardinal and Gold for a few years then fell off the wagon and went back to his evil ways. I have coached kids who went many directions over the years- multiple D3 and NAIA young men and a few who went to ISU,Iowa,Mizzu,USAFA, and even one who went to good old UNI. I love them all and have been lucky enough to see kids chase dreams no matter the silly school colors. I will also tell you I snooped your facebook awhile back and noticed you are friends with 2 of my favorite kids I ever worked with- too many injuries to reach full potential but intelligent little smart A_ _ studs. I will contact you and give you my real identity so we are on a level playing field. A couple regular HR guys already know- long time friends who me hate online but love me enough in person not to shoot me.

First it’s ring shopping now it’s planning for a baby. Things move fast in the Turk household apparently.

Anyone who goes to HR and mistakes those clowns for people who know wrestling are also delusional. They are the furthest thing from wrestling experts.

This is the most interesting thing I've ever seen you post. If what you say is true I wouldn't hold it against you that you didn't wrestle or go to Iowa. I'm actually interested in how old you are.

It's a good board, but damn there's some serious nonsense lately. From Sandusky to roids, it's getting ridiculous.
When they are discussing wrestling in general and the Iowa guys specifically, it is a great board and I go to the board every day. When they start talking about PSU or tOSU or ISU, it can get a bit hared to read.

I will say this though, there are a lot of times when they are having a discussion and a PSU poster comes over and somehow injects PSU into a Iowa conversation tOSU and OSU do not do that). I think a lot of the Iowa guys are really tired of that. Sometimes they just want to talk about their guys.

I can feel their frustration and understand it. Also, this board has improved tremendously in the last couple years. I come here every day also. Thanks for allowing me to join in the conversations.

You know, as an Iowan myself, I kind of HATE how I always hear that on a national level; "Man, those Iowans (Sqwawkers) are really knowledgeable about their wrestling!"

The fact of the matter is is that they are THE MOST ignorant observes of the sport you'll ever see! For one, they do not understand how calls don't go their way, as they always feel entitled to getting all of the calls and breaks. Second, they goofs start screaming STALLING! from the opening hand shake, but, of course, encourage the Sqwawker who has a lead at the end to "circle."

Yes, take it from me: it's INTOLERABLE to sit among them and try to watch wrestling, all the while trying to save your own personal intellect.

Unless your first post, and all subsequent posts are about how fantastic everything about Iowa wrestling is the attacks just seem to be the norm. No sense in tip toeing, just say what you want the way you want - you are going to get blasted no matter what.

When I post on HR I try my best to be respectful, as we spent a lot of years looking up at them at the top of the podium. What I take umbrage to are the repeated, and unsubstantiated, accusations we are cheating. Show me some proof and I will STFU. The ad hominem attacks with respect to "it'. The incessant chant that we know nothing of wrestling, we didn't even know wrestling existed prior to 2009. It's no wonder we have some members here get carried away with emotion. Many BWI posters on HR are over the top, or are simply trolling. The majority of HR posters, and for that matter other teams, here are generally respectful, but lighting dumpster fires is not prevalent here, some gas does get thrown on the fire over there. Why can't we all just get along? Now where have I heard that before?
