Super 32 Thread

teske gave up E then got a TD on a inside single. gave E 2-2. then he shoots again and in attempting to finish low gets an ankle and gives an ankle. there is a scramble with teske trying to pass on his back, gets caught for 2 and 2 and down 2-6. he came roaring back and won 8-7 w a TD w 2 secs left.

he is aggressive but like I said before gets stuck or stops in the transition. but had big heart and guts coming back against a kid with roller skates on

Busiello so tough on top, but very flat footed from feet in this match. let guy in on his legs a lot. but won 7-3 without much effort (relatively speaking)

super entertaining qtr w Chelbove and Vasquez (CA). i think I counted feet in the air 3 or 4 times. one of the most entertaining 3-1 matches you will see.

edit: vasquez won 5-1; flipped views after the TD and see he gave up back.

Chlebove upset 5-1. Gave up a late TD to go down 3-1 and tried pull off a Dylan Ness elevator and gave up 2 back points

hillegas was losing and hit a peterson for 5, then had to hold on to win 7-6

Some of that might be by design....He is a counter wrestler on his feet...Loves to hit that Jermaine Jones/Jordan Oliver shin whizzer.

He also trains with a lot of scramblers (Diakomihalis brothers, Teemer, etc)...It's kind a style they have adopted at VHW/G2.

Teske has a huge motor which will help him when 3-2-2 becomes the match length. He also almost always comes forward and takes space which will help when the out of bounds rules are enforced in college. He needs to improve in scrambles a great deal, but his effort will always be there and he is a solid student and a great kid. I have never considered him a super talent but he will be a solid career 125 guy.

Busiello is going to want to get some revenge....Think this Florida kid he has the semis beat him at one of the Journeymen events last year.

I agree, I think he gives up his leg on purpose because he appears to have a plan as soon as his leg is taken. Probably not a great long term plan because that won't work at the next tier as well as it works at this one. When he gets to a leg himself, he leaves his own legs out and because he's so lanky, the ensuing scramble inevitably gets stopped as dangerous. He seems to be pretty good at difficult things, but I can't tell whether he can just, say, hit a clean blast double.

Teske looked off the entire day. Hate to make excuses, but a logical explanation is that he is not 100%.
As dumb as this sounds, maybe a bunch of midwestern wrestlers ate something bad at Hartsfield. Teske lost, Rider got majored by a kid who DNP at the Kentucky state tourney, McKee lost, Brayton Lee got sick at the airport and withdrew.

In any case, the loss being what it is, let's be optimists and see today as an opportunity for Teske to show what he is made of -- twice as many matches in consis, less time between matches, much more physically and especially mentally challenging.

big Cass the iowa recruit moves real well for a hvy. stays up on the balls of feet and just looks super powerful up top. I realize a lot of the big boys are playing football right now, but this kid looks the part.

Teske in the hole mat 5.

this flo text/email alert is freaking great for tourneys like this. you go to the guys you want to watch and then put your cell in and get a text when they get their mat assigned. its a brillant innovation.

Yes I seem to remember that as well. Can't remember the match in detail, but seem to recall thinking Busiello was in control but kind of let the kid hang around and then lost it late. Maybe wrong.

teske gets the 2nd pd fall. was 0-0 end of 1. teske on top, kid gets out, teske in on leg but his leg gets caught go into scramble. in scramble he gets a cradle now up 5-1. hold breaks but he readjusts going over the head for the fall. I didnt see the fall but i dont matter, only ref does.

mckee gives up td with 6 secs left but its waived off. mckee did just enough to win.

clebove beat wert 4-2. gosh i wish there would be a stalling count or call made for kids that put a knee on the mat and just sit there. so boring.

I imagine the PSU staff will want to override that adopted style. I wonder if any birdies get in Busiello's ear to start practicing other material . . .

DT told me once that if he had a guy he thought he could beat he would allow himself to be put in situations that caused him to work out of.

I know everyone does that in practice, but in matches only the elite do it. so if this is a thing where busiello isnt really challenged other than at his club, this might be what he is doing. if he rolls over to his back only to fight off;) well know it is real.

he is tough as nails on top that much is clear.

ruth up with a noticeable singlet change....spyker this must be your doing

If he does that in the NCAA finals, does that make him Heil?

Thanks for all the updates since once again my flo subscription gets me nothing. No idea why I have kept it so long but this is the final straw.

ruth gave up td at end of 1. then goes down gets out and gives up 2 and 2. gets out. down 2-6. from here the kid from NC shuts it down and ruth goes on a run. but he just didnt have enough time to fight all the way back and loses 10-9. good to see him gut it out but he seemed to be doing this fighting from behind a lot this weekend. where he has the skill to just go out and wreck people.

whats the issue? I ask because this new big ten deal makes the flo subscription even more valuable....that is until they start raking us for it. for this year anyway we can all save some money.

I haven't seen any other complaints, NoVa, and it's worked fine for me all weekend. Not a blip.

It works now that I cancelled. I think maybe the problem was I could never subscribe to flowrestling for some reason but successfully subscribed to flotrack a few years back to watch the Penn Relays. That is supposed to get you the wrestling and all of the other sports they cover but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. For instance I couldn't cancel my account logged in to flowrestling. I had to go to flotrack to cancel. Just no longer worth the hassle from my point of view.

0-0 after 1. teske gets out and then knee pull single takes it high and then down for the 2. rides out period.

3pd ride to a tilt for 3NF wins 6-0. his op was dead, hit for stalling on bottom and really looked dead tired and i dont blame him. a lot of wrestling this weekend especially in the consis

Busiello...didnt see the first pd and half...tuned in and it was 4-2 bus...from there he went down for the 3rd...put himself in danger and gave up 2 NF only to hit peterson for 5 and then rides him, lets him and hand fights for the 9-5 V and into the finals

Busiello with another entertaining ride against Hines, a kid with a similar build. Interesting sequence in second where Hines tied it up with back points, but Busiello shifted into a Peterson and got back points of his own. 9-5 final.

A kid with talent, a big heart, no quit and an aggressive attitude is a kid who will prosper big time in the Penn State room.
