On television alone, CBS averaged 91.6 million viewers Sunday for the mostly suspense-free game, down from 99.9 million for last season’s Super Bowl.
It’s the smallest television-only viewership since Super Bowl XL, which capped the 2005 season. That game, a 21-10 win for the Steelers over the Seahawks, averaged 90.8 million on ABC.
