Against a not very good VaTech team that ended up going 3-5 in the ACC last year. VaTech did the same thing - they blitzed on a near every down basis and tO$U could not handle it at all and gave up 8 sacks during the game and looked putrid on offense, just awful. We all know how tO$U's season turned out last year.... Moral of the story, yesterday's game very concerning (especially given the fact that CH has shown no development in being able to do anything positive against blitzing teams), but one game does not a season make.....and PSU still has plenty to play for. Time for the players and coaches to "man up" and "get to work"....

Seconded! Figure it out, make changes, practice it. Be prepared

QB JT Barrett completed 9 of 29 passes with three interceptions.
RB Ezekial Elliot ran 8 times for 32 yards.

Totally agree. Have watched Penn State since Joe's first year as HC. We've had a number of games like yesterday over the years. Offense could not adjust and thin defense got worn down on a hot day. Got our "ears kicked in" (who said that?). Team did NOT quit. History says fans will not quit either. Neither will recruits. That said, there are always some (fans) who can't handle the going getting tough. Nothing new. We are.

The last thing this team needs is for the fans to abandon them. I know we're all hurting right now, but many of these kids committed and kept their commitments amid sanctions. They need and deserve our support. I'll be there on Saturday at Beaver Stadium screaming my head off.

Loss for the ages??? 17 point loss. Kidding, right? You gotta be kidding.

Meyer, his coordinators, and his position coaches all admitted after the Ohio State loss to Virginia Tech that they were surprised by VT's use of the 46 Bear defense, were unprepared to modify the game plan on the fly, and were outcoached by Foster and Beamer. Knowing that every team on the schedule would have a Bear package ready for them, the team then practiced against it every day thereafter. I have no knowledge whether Franklin and his staff have addressed their mistakes but it seems to me that, irrespective of any other tactics he adopts, the coach must take the heat off the players, or he could very well lose the team as was suggested by the PennLive writer this morning.

So you are taking wagers on a decisive turnaround?

There's a couple of problems with that comparison.

JT Barrett was starting just his second game at QB. Hackenberg has been starting for 2 years.

OSU had replaced 4 out of 5 starters on their OL.

OSU had spent their fall camp getting ready for Navy's triple option, and had only a week to prepare for VT.

Temple is not VT.

PSU is not OSU, at this point.

There is no way you guys should have lost that game. If the coaching and player development is really that bad, 6-6 is about the best you can hope for.

tOSU had much more talent at OL, though. And as I noted elsewhere, last season, vs common opponents, there was not a lot to separate VT and Temple--they each beat the team the other guy lost to.

Big time over reacting. CJF will get this thing fixed. Gotta believe

LOL. OSU actually improved last year. PSU did not in a full year. Donovan will be fired at the end of this year more than likely. This is a trash offense and the Hackenberg's are even to buckle via social media. 1st down bubble screen. 10 Sacks againstTemple. You don't bleed blue and white but it does come out your arse that color I guess. Coaching on offense is AWFUL.
