An altered state
Just turned on the game and there are no announcers. Crowd noise, refs mikes work, can hear Pa announcers….but no TV play by play. Very strange and sure it is not intentional for a CCG. Been that way for ten minutes or so.

Big day in Manhattan, KS...football team in a Conference Championship from Jerry World and the Witchita State Wheatshockers coming into play hoops tonight.

Oh to be young again. Much beer drinking going on in The Little Apple today? 🍎 🍺 🍻

Interesting game. Both QBs have missed some open receivers deep. Kansas State has done a good job containing TCU's potent offense but has had a couple key guys injured in the first half.

ABC's playoff tracker says TCU still has a 96% chance to make the playoff even if they lose today. That theory might be put to the test, but the Frogs have been a great 2nd-half team this season.

FWIW Will Howard is a Ches Mont kid from Downingtown West. The school I work for and hold the sticks during football games does not play them every year...but in 2016 they whipped us ptetty well (pun intended...they are the Whippets). Late in the game they sent in the JV QB...who took a few snaps in Victory Formation.

I remember them calling the kid in...big boy...and I'm 6 2 235. That was Will Howard.
He landed at KState b/c he reached out to their QB coach who had coached Carson Wentz in college...and Howard had modeled his game after the former Eagle.

That may be the only positive outcome of Wentz' time in the Delaware Valley.

Go K State!

I hate the overturn of the fumble. I understand the rule but Duggan clearly still had possession of the ball when it was stripped.

Close call. It seems like when there's even the suggestion of forward motion, they give the benefit of the doubt to the QB.

Meanwhile, TCU may be in some trouble. They haven't figured out the Kansas State defense. They better put a drive together pretty soon.

I never didn't have sound--that's odd
Wow, whole game. Weird, they still went to the sideline reporter…nothing. Felt bad for the two kids in the half time throwing contest. Their one shot at national tv…gone.

Even their promos of up coming games don’t work. Hackers? Russian/Chinese?

I think his hand was moving from about 11 o'clock, then stopped at the top (12 o'clock), possibly by the LB coming in contact with the ball...tough call either way, don't often see the ball receiving contact from the front.

TCU needed that turnover badly. There's no way TCU is better than Bama. If they lose it's going to get very interesting.

Based on what? Your opinion? Bama has 2 losses. Tcu is undefeated and playing in an extra game against a team that has already saw them.

Saying Bama is better doesn't make it so. Might as well say PSU is better.

Alabama may or may not be "better," but no way are they more deserving than TCU. The record doesn't support that. The only reason it's even a discussion is the Alabama (and SEC) brand.

But it doesn't matter: TCU is in even if they lose this game. The only thing that might have changed that would have been a blowout defeat, which is clearly not in the cards at this point.

Not all records are created equal
TCU is not a lock if they lose this game. They may get in but it's not a lock.
Wasn't USC/Utah close at the same point of the game last night?

I also think Penn State is better

I put almost no stock in doing well in the Big XII or ACC.
"You" can put whatever stock you want into it. But "you" are not objective criteria. The objective criteria in no way supports such nonsense.

I can just as easily say the SEC is overrated and easily worse than the Big Ten and Big 12

You don't think the committee agrees with that assessment
The Big Ten after Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State was arguably the worst conference this year
K-State scored again--TCU is not sitting pretty.

Deuce just faked the Frogs' #3 right out of his jock on the way to the end zone. What a move.

I dont care what the committee,
a group of individuals who at one point included Condoleezza Rice, thinks. What they think is not objective.

No objective criteria can justify putting Alabama ahead of TCU even if TCU loses.

You are changing the argument. Your opinion isn't based on objective evidence.

Presuming the committee puts Alabama ahead of TCU, their decision will also lack objective evidence.

It doesn't though. Bama lost to 1 & 7 on the road. TCU has a bunch of average wins
12-1 isn't always better than 10-2. Hence there's a resume they review
Bama would be favored by double digits against TCU on a neutral site.

This is why an expanded playoff is needed. Many people differ on who is deserving- the best teams or the best records?

The problem with college football is the large disparity in schedules. If TcU was in the Big Ten or SEC they’d have 2- 3 losses by now and not even be in the discussion. Put them in the Big 12 and they are undefeated and a playoff ‘lock’ even if they lose to Kansas State.

Imagine if there was a 24 team playoffs--this weekend would be amazing instead of only have 2 games that mattered at all. We'd be on a bye waiting to see who we played next week

Okay--true--even a better point
I don't see any argument for TCU over Bama unless TCU is 13-0 and the committee simply feels obligated.

I don't think Bama should be in the playoff though. I might be biased, but if they are the first 2 loss team to make it then that really sucks.

I think Bama is extremely average this year compared to the entire Saban era. UGA would dominate them. UT beat them. LSU beat them. Saban with 3 weeks to prepare is near unstoppable, but I just don't see it with them this year.

Apply that logic to the things you're saying
I look at the objective evidence. TCU has 12 wins in a P5 conferencez is 1st in its conference, and is playing an extra game against a team it already had to play. Tcu is ranked 3rd, Bama is ranked 5.
The 2 teams behind them OsU and Bama each have 2 losses and 2 less wins and are idle, not having to play.

Alabama, in particular, is 4th in its conference with 2 less wins and 1 more loss presuming TCu loses. Alabama has beaten no one, you of all people who whine about PSU beating no one should be consistent in your droning. Bama lost to 1 and 7, PSU lost to 3 and 5, yet you are on a PSU board irrationally making a subjective case for Bama.

Just shut up man.

Honestly, wouldn't it make sense that Bama was the first team?
I think Georgia and Michigan would beat them but I'd be betting on Bama against USC and TCU

None of what you said is relevant
12 wins in a P5 conference isn't a criteria
TCU is ranked 3rd and will fall if they lose unless the committee just does whatever it can to avoid Michigan-Ohio State in the first round
Ohio State has 1 loss not 2--so you're dead wrong on that
Alabama has ranked wins including Miss State and Texas--we don not
I said Penn State is better than TCU as well--did I not?

Just because you decide what you think is relevant doesn't change the objective evidence.

I was off on OSU, but we are talking Bama.

Bama's best wins were against two 8-4 teams in bottom half of subjective rankings. Is that your objective basis for why you personally believe Bama is better than a 12-1 TCU?

Although K-State not spying Duggan might allow them to get back in this

This is one of the issues. Why K-state isn't spying Duggan with someone who can run is beyond stupid. On that long run it looked like the nose tackle was holding off the rush. Was he responsible for containment? That would be hard to believe.

Classic Big-12 defensive play. Non-existent.

Then why'd you mention Ohio State?
Bama has two ranked wins. Teams the committee has ranked. That's important
I don't care about Bama or TCU but Bama would be favored against TCU and therefore if they're comparable (which at 12-1/10-2 they will be) then it's interesting and you should be prepared for Bama to jump them
TCU needs to finish this game--ball is in their court.

I mentioned OSU because they are also behind TCU and have no basis to be ahead of TCU, even if OSU has 1 loss or 2 losses.

Again, I don't give a shit about who is "favored", that isn't objective evidence. You have offered no objective evidence other than Bama beating two 4 loss teams. Psu's resume is nearly identical, beating Purdue a 4 loss team on the road, who is in the B10 championship game.

There is no objective evidence to justify Bama ahead of TCU at 12-1, who is ranked 2 spots higher and Bama is idle.
