I know, there's some comfort in thinking you have the top wrestling board or the top results at one weight weight class if you can't be the best wrestling team anymore (or program - oh, those Bucknuts!), right?!?!
That's not true. I thought Gross had a great tournament yesterday.
No one on here thought Teske was a contender though.

It's a legitimate discussion considering Iowa is Penn State's main rival this season and they are making a rather drastic move in bumping DeSanto up to get Teasdale into the lineup. Not to mention the over-the-top predictions of Teasdale taking the college wrestling world by storm now that he has the greatest light weight coaches in the history of time and space.

But just in case there is someone new to this, I'll point out a few obvious points of why it would get discussion here.
- Teaz went to school at PSU a year ago
- Teaz is from PA and an all time PA great champ
- tHR speculation of him instantly walking in and being an AA and beating Desanto in the room
- he very well could wrestle against PSU and factor into our W and our W streak
- he very well could factor into the NC race
- he LOST TO A D3 kid

I find it funny that the same people that cry to their mod every time something negative is said over on HR now feels the need to try and dictate what is said here.

When a favorite to win a national championship loses, it is news. Even HR has revised its points estimate from 150 to 145 with the loss.

I don't know which obsession is worse, HRs with Cael cheating or BWI's with what happens on HR, and I know it's not everyone just a few posters
I've been high on Rumph for a while, and was disappointed that he didn't end up at a D1 school. He was clearly good enough to wrestle at instate Big Ten programs IU and Purdue. When you consider how late he started wrestling, his results were amazing. He was definitely a high level guy coming out of high school. He wrestled Cole Matthews at an all star dual and lost on a takedown with 1 second left, to give you a sense of where he was.
With that being said, still a bad loss for Teasdale. Sounds like he gave up a scramble takedown and rideout to put him in a hole.
One could not go to HR for months, and still know what the biggest threads were. Cael did something, Iowa has 10AAs and 150 points and my personal 2 favorites, someone is staaallling and just you wait until next year.
Besides, it makes perfect sense for PSU fans to pay attention to HR. It is the most active board and despite not being our chief rival for championships, the Hawks are always just 2,3 or 4 spots behind us.
One is accusatory, the other is for entertainment purposes.
Hawkeye Resistance is a lot cheaper than the local comedy club, for largely the same effect.

Lot's of Iowa posters over here extolling the virtues of Rumph. Maybe Tom and Terry should try to get him to enter the portal. I mean Gavin's been in the Iowa room or practicing at the HWC for what - 6 months now? This kid's been at Wartburg for the last two years.
We have a ton of D3 programs in PA and some very good ones. We have a good idea of the level a top D3 guy is at. (Hint: Teasdale should be dominating him at this point if he's beating DeSanto in the room, or even at least an AA candidate. It shouldn't be close.)

And in other news -- Spencer fatigued early again and was looking pretty rough in the 3rd (after scoring 12 in the 1st). I suspect it's going to be another long season of drama around his conditioning. At least he'll be out there only periodically, which should reduce the frequency of bellyaching and armchair diagnoses (I hope).
Mono and other mysterious illnesses can last a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time.

I started this post, and honestly it had nothing to do with Iowa. Teasdale is a PA kid who most of us followed since he was in middle school. I was over on HR asking a few questions (My wife has a job interview in Iowa on Thursday), mostly about youth wrestling clubs for my son. I saw he lost and figured others would want to know. I'm a PS fan but I am a wrestling fan first. I watch and follow a lot of wrestling that has nothing to do with PSU.
