Here we go. Tying up, some snaps, but nothing develops & they're back to the tie up. Circling in the center, then breaking apart, then back to tie ups. Both trying a snap now and then, but not much more action. Bearclaw in on a single, keeps working & gets the TD on the edge, 3-0, out of bounds, restart, 49-sec left. Wilson to his feet, tries a roll, but Bearclaw stays with him & keeps the ride alive. Wilson back to his feet, but Bearclaw brings him back to the mat. Bearclaw rides out the period. 3-0 TD w/1:02 riding time.
Period 2:
Bearclaw takes down. He works to his feet, breaks the grip & gets the escape, 4-0, 56-sec RT left. Circling & looking for an opening, then back to the tie ups. Wilson looks for a shot, but no luck. Wilson with another half shot, nothing. Bearclaw drops in on a leg, Wilson sprawls, but Bearclaw keeps working & is in deeper now & gets the TD, 7-0. Tough wrestling from Bearclaw! It looked like he just wanted it more. Bearclaw rides out the period, 7-0 TB w/1:20 RT.
Period 3:
Wilson takes down. Caution, restart. Bearclaw riding, looking for a cheap tilt, but no luck. Wilson trying to sit out, but Bearclaw riding tough & then he throws in a leg. Wilson tries a roll, but Bearclaw stays with him & has Wilson flattened out now. Wilson trying to get to his knees & the ref calls a stalemate, restart, 1:03 left. Wilson false start, caution & restart. Wilson to his feet, Bearclaw riding tough, Wilson tries a roll, but Bearclaw riding like a backpack. Stalling on Bearclaw & restart for some reason, 39-sec left. Wilson struggling to get to his feet. Bearclaw is just suffocating him. Wilson tries a roll & another, but no luck on either. Bearclaw adds a riding time point & finishes with over 3-min of riding time.

Bearclaw looked fantastic! I hope we see him versus Mitch in the finals! Imagine PSU #1 & former PSU #2. That'd be pretty sweet!

All I think when Barraclough wrestles is “Caliendo ain’t getting to Saturday night”.
A talented kid transfers into the Iowa room and they get to experience a different intensity, they become tougher, their conditioning improves, their finishes become crisper and they achieve a high level of success.
The second year in the room seems to be the first year of slight deterioration. Even without Barraclough, Caliendo wasn't going to wrestle Saturday night.
All he has to do is win 6 more matches in a row and he will fall all the way down to #32 on Wrestlestat 😂TB moves up to #7 in the Flo rankings:

Period 1:
Circling & head slapping. Amine gets poked in the face & there's a restart. Tying up & circling. Stoppage & restart for fingers I think. Back to the tie up & hand fighting, add a head slap or two. Then there's more of the same. Amine looking underhook, Barraclough fights out of it & we're back to circling in the center. Amine tries another hard underhook, but no luck. Back to tying up & circling in the center, 1-min left. Heavy hand-fighting. Barraclough shoots, Amine circles away. 15-sec left. And that's how the period ends. 0-0
Period 2:
Amine takes down, gets to his feet, but Barraclough wrapped around the waist & trips him back to the mat. Barraclough with a cross-body ride. Amine trying to get to his feet, but can't get off his knees for very long. Amine on his feet now, Barraclough draped over the top, 1-min left. Amine trying to grab an ankle & it's a stalemate or stalling call, restart, 1:20 riding time for Barraclough. Amine gets to his feet quickly, but Barraclough brings him back to the mat. Barraclough riding hard. Amine tries to roll, but Barraclough stays with him. Barraclough rides out the period. 0-0, but 2-min Riding time for Barraclough.

Barraclough takes down, gets to his feet quickly & gets an escape in 9 seconds. 1-0 Barraclough with 1:51 RT. Circling, tying up & hand-fighting in the center. 1-min left. Amine shoots, but Barraclough blocks him off. Restart for something, 48-sec left. Circling, Amine coming forward a little harder now. Amine with a throw-by & go behind, they're scrambling & Amine picks up the TD on the edge, 3-1. Barraclough challenging. Challenge lost, score still 3-1 Amine, 16-sec left, restart. Barraclough down, gets to his feet & gets the escape, 2-0 & time expires. Barraclough gets a riding time point & it's 3-3.

Circling & tying up & breaking, then repeat. Amine looking underhook, but Barraclough backs away. Barraclough shoots, almost gets to a leg, but it's a stalemate, restart, 1:12 left. Circling, hand-fighting, then tying up, 1-min left. Amine shoots, nothing, and again, but Barraclough blocks him off, restart, 45-sec left. Tying up & circling, Amine snaps & shoots, but he was too far away. Restart for something, Amine shoots, Barraclough fights him off & time expires.

Barraclough takes down, gets to his feet, stalling on Amine, then Barraclough breaks the grip & gets the escape, 4-3. Barraclough in on a leg, but Amine fights him off, and that's how the 30-sec ride out period ends.

Amine down & he jumps forward off the whistle, Barraclough wrapped around, way over-extended. Amine working to come around, Barraclough trying to fight him off & it's a locked hands call on Barraclough, point, Amine, 4-4, restart, 8-sec left. Amine to his feet off the whistle, but Barraclough trips him back to the mat on the edge, as they go out of bounds, restart, 2.6 sec left. Barraclough rides him out & 4-4 still. Then Barraclough is awarded the win for some reason that I am unaware of. 5-4 Barraclough.

Amine got the only takedown but Bearclaw far superior on top and bottom
yes he had the riding time in the ot period (30 sec to ~16 for Amine). if he wouldn't of interlocked he would have won by 1.
Riding Time is the tiebreaker
In case anyone was curious, I noticed in the 125 match the OSU wrestler lost two points on two separate technical violations. The announcers stated that if he received a third technical violation he would be disqualified. Not knowing the rule, I looked it up. A third technical violation would be assessed two points and a fourth violation would be a disqualification.
Not true. Lewan can get off bottom against pretty much anyone.

Taylor himself has said something along the line of "if you want to score a lot of points, that has to be your mentality for a long time, just can't suddenly change that mindset". Amine has wrestled cautious his entire life, not changing now.
Cael has had transfers come to PSU, we expect them to jump levels, hasn't happened for the most part. Hildebrand anyone?

I have a different take on this and probably unpopular on this board. I actually thought Amine looked good outside of the 2nd period rideout. Barraclaugh has always been tough on top and PSU has always focussed on that. I was impressed with Amine keeping the pace up, and then getting a TD with 16 seconds left to take it to OT after giving up the escape.
He’s definitely gotta get better from top and bottom but I can see the improvements in him from a pace standpoint and I think he will be a problem for everyone not named MM.
If he hadn't interlocked, I think TB loses by 1. I think TB interlocked to prevent the reversal and only give up one point. If so, pretty cagey by the 5th year guy.

Love Bearclaw and rooting for him hard, but what a snoozefest. Glad he won, though. Amine will continue to be Amine, DT or not.
All in for The Bear . . . maybe even against Sammy, whose situation makes it hard to root against.
If “ifs” and “buts” were candy and nuts, we’d all have a Merry Christmas.
Bearclaw all day. Sasso has sneered multiple times about not being a fan of Penn State. Glad he’s recovered and I hope he pushes Caliendo and Amine down the podium, but that’s the end of it
