Just watched the final play of the game several times from the two angles.
App St’s QB actually made a great throw and has to be talking to himself.
Our #7 was over their slot receiver and #21 was covering their wideout. With the snap, the slot receiver was released by #7 with #17 coming over for the deeper coverage but he wasn’t going to get there in time as the receiver ran a straight route down the field and didn’t turn the route inside.
But #21, IMMEDIATELY UPON THE SNAP, released from the wideout and headed to and paralled the slot receiver on his outside shoulder. The QB never saw #21 and never expected anyone but his receiver to have a play on the ball. Not only was #21 there to break it up, he wrestled away the ball and wrestled away the game.
He had a rough game, but made a tremendously great instinctive play to prevent the tying TD and save the game.
Everyone was so excited by the interception.....including me.....that the outstandingness of the play itself was overlooked. KUDOS!
