I wonder what Sandy is going to whisper in Pat's ear after today's game? "let me know if I can help proof read your resume?"
Would have been more merciful to have lost yesterday
It's just time.
Time to get the season over and get on with working for next year
Ending the season on two straight absolute horrendous performances just isn't gonna' do anyone any good (fortunately, it probably doesn't do any real harm either)
For all the things that improved throughout the year - - - - this week is a bewildering embarrassment of horrible basketball
They are FUNDAMENTALLY HORRENDOUS right now - - - in every aspect of the game
When your second leading scorer at halftime has 4 points you know you're in trouble. Carr leads with 10, but half of those are FTs.Psu looks tired. No hustle on defense. It's a game of men against boys. MSU just turned it up a notch after the timeout, and is having its way.
It's either that or set a high screen for Carr and let him bull his way towards the basket. That seems to be all we've got.Just keep chucking those three's!!!!

Big problem when Watkins got an early cheap foul. He couldn't defend aggressively and MSU's big man took over. Then the half court offense started taking bad shots that led to transition baskets the other way.
Have you seen the women's team play?If Penn St just dropped basketball would they still get a cut of big ten conference basketball money? It might be more merciful for all. What if PSU just kept the women's team?

I feel badly for those who believe this team will be, somehow, a lot better next year. If that were likely, they should have improved over the course of this season. If they have, I haven't seen it. I predict a slightly better record, maybe a couple of games over .500, and an NIT bid. Will it be enough to save Pat's job. Probably, but I have no illusions that somehow, someday, we will be a perennial power in basketball. With a few aberrational years, here and there, this program will always be a middle, to bottom, of the BigTen team. I wish it were otherwise, but it is what it is.

Didn't expect PSU to compete today. Second game in a row. Thin bench. MSU gets better and better as season goes on. They need to develop a post game on the offensive side of the ball in order to take the next step. Teams that rely on jump shooting are too streaky.
I feel badly for those that watched this team all season and didn't see any improvement.

It's pretty simple: Chambers is coaching for his job next season. If they don't sniff the big dance, he should be gone. Enough is enough already. He's had some good recruiting classes, especially for PSU standards. It's time to put something together.
Where was the improvement at?
Carr took a big jump from November until now as the game slowed down, he began to use his size more in the post, and also became more aggressive getting to the rim. Reeves offensive game is continuing to develop as he becomes more assertive and attacks the rim. Stevens added some range to his jumper and is making other 4's start to come out a little further on him. Defensively, we've been doing a better job stopping dribble penetration, and also do a much better job closing out high vs. all those early season games when we came out to contest with our hands down. Those are some of the areas that I've seen.
When you lose 11 of your last 15 games, any improvement is hard to see. This is not a good team. It will not be a good team next year. We may be better, but so will most of the other teams in this conference.I feel badly for those that watched this team all season and didn't see any improvement.

How about Hairballsleepovers ? Also known as the PSU MBB equivalent of the Black Knight from Monty Python ?Be careful you don't piss off Mr Obvious stat geek Erial! According to the resident know everything(he actually looked it up) stat geek we are a better team this year haha. Don't let the on court win/loss results get in the way of a good disagreement of evaluation methods.
Lord help this board!!!
I think most people who are critical of this team really want to see it succeed, but it's hard to make a case that we have improved when we finish the season winning 4 of the last 15 and get blown out in the final game.Be careful you don't piss off Mr Obvious stat geek Erial!
