First off, let me just say, I love James Franklin and let me be humble in saying it took a hot minute to get there. At first, it seemed like he was a lot of talk, but after a few seasons, I think he's got pretty much everyone in my family convinced. He gets the culture, understands football, and if the recent success on the recruiting trail continues, it's apparent the football factory that the media was so hell bent on exposing, has shown us a new Penn State, and so far, I'm lovin' what we're seeing. The Beast of the East is back, and better than we've been in decades.

2018 will be my first season with my own season tickets. Holla back at ECU people - Coming to you loud and proud from row 85! Because of this, I recently started to build out a youtube channel called "StateLionPro" and have been posting content over the last couple of months trying to find a voice to get things started.

After posting a few of the videos this past fall, I decided to become a "youtuber" with a focus on more strategic uploads that fit together as a series that tells a larger narrative. My narrative for this one, is nothing other than "Success with Honor".

Long story short, I love reliving the generations of PSU greatness which Youtube is perfect for. Old school Penn State highlights or anything college sports related is the outlet to find anything anything and everything that's out there.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist (look at Ziggy Zeigler) to allude to there being numerous substantial errors in the Sandusky trial where the media ran with headlines that weren't accurate forever tarnishing Joe's career. My mission is to fight that, sharing the success stories of our late coach's 61 year career. Feel free to email me with any ideas! statelionpro@gmail.com.

Finally, I think the real irony in all of this, is that I can remember Joe commenting on how he wanted his legacy to be remembered after he was gone. As humble as ever, whenever asked it seemed the congruent response after all the years was something about more than football. Unfortunately, his legacy was torn apart by something outside of football, and who knows if it will ever recover. Actually who cares?

The more I think about Joe, coupled with footage of him on the sidelines from old games dating back to the 60s has given me a perspective of what it truly means to have a career that you can not only be proud of, but one that legends are built from. Our surge back to the top ten the last two years really surprised me. PSU football helped lay the groundwork for what has become a world renowned University. What was mainly spearheaded by one man endured the test of the national media, against all odds. There will always be haters... luckily Success with Honor and the Grand experiment can't be destroyed by hate. Let us never forget the man who helped us become who WE ARE.

RIP Joe - Here's to you
