Please excuse my pessimism, but it’s just something about this that yeah it might be true but if it’s true, they’re going to skate out of this almost with no consequences
No. They won't. People yammering about how they are going to get away with it aren't paying attention: The sanctions will be imposed, Harbaugh will leave, and they will have a good amount of decommits, and the program will be set back 5 years to mediocrity.

The problem is that it won't happen until January and they are actually willing to trade 5 years of a .500 football team for a chance at the CFP this year. THAT'S sad.

Of course, their season success is not set in stone: Penn State plays them in 12 days, at Beaver Stadium, and has just as much talent as Michigan. Penn State will have a shot at beating them head to head, and Penn State and James Franklin will once again have zero god damn excuses for losing to them.

Beat them on the f#$king field of play or stfu

I don’t see anything happening except maybe Penn state losing more bowl revenue

Then you have not visited the other boards in the big ten: among fan bases, ours is the only one looking at this in this way. It's not just Ohio State, most of our conference brethren fully believe that Michigan football as we know it, ends next year... and quite possibly this year, as some Purdue fans are hearing whispers that the Boilers might sit this game out in protest.

We’ll, if the fans on message boards think it, it must be true

Michigan football as I know it, is decades of mediocrity, bad hires, booger eating, and odd recruiting sleepovers, with 2 out-of-character years of success in 2021/22.

C’mon man Purdue isn’t sitting out the game in protest

True. Beside the contractual obligations, they would need to give plenty of warning to Michigan, the networks, and the fans attending. Then wait for the demands for reimbursement from those who bought tickets, made airline and hotel reservations, etc.

I'm no journalist, but if I slept in a Holiday Inn last night, I'd interview Erik All and McNamara. They don't seem to have any love loss for Big Blue. Maybe any other disenfranchised ex-wolverines.

Steps to becoming a journalist:

1) Start a twitter account, blog, tiktok or youtube channel.
2) Congrats you're a journalist.

The insanity doesnt stop. Imagine extending a coach who's in the thick of a huge scandal.

They don’t see it as a huge scandal and there isn’t enough national outrage over it to make them second guess or hesitate.

When Finebaum basically says nothing will come of it, you know they’re just waiting for the story to die out.

Not that Finebaum is the decision maker, but when the mouth of the south, (as another poster called him ;)), doesn’t get upset over Michigan trying to influence SEC game results, then there’s just no way this is blowing up nationally in terms of penalties that would make Michigan rethink Harby’s contract extension.

The FBI is involved so there will be some fire from this smoke. Imagine the interview that the FBI conducts with Stalions, if they do their homework beforehand. You do jail time for lying to the FBI. And, all the underlings he had going to these games and taping the signals, as alleged. They, also will be interviewed and have to tell the truth.

The FBI is investigating Matt Weiss.

The credential reads "VB" and appears to be designated for the visiting bench area, which is different than a general sideline pass. It gives access to the designated area between the 20-yard lines, which is reserved for players, coaches, trainers and equipment staff. Schools are given a finite amount of passes for each game

You have to wonder what’s going on and why it takes so long to confirm or deny basic information.

CMU should have a record of who was given those sideline bench passes for the MSU game. It should take 10 minutes for the CMU coaching staff to identify that person given that he was in official CMU gear with their coaching staff on the sideline.

What’s taking so long? Who knows, but when you read there’s a lot of connection between the CMU and Michigan coaching staffs you start to wonder.

Harbaugh’s answers at press conferences lately are beyond obfuscating. There’s apparently no accountability.

It's so deals can be worked out and cut so that special people have a soft landing and certain others get hung out to dry.

Maybe, but CMU is now being dragged into this mess. You would think they would answer immediately and draw a line under this episode.

By delaying, I start to wonder now if CMU was really complicit in the sign stealing program, (given the reported connection between the coaching staffs at CMU and Michigan). Are they delaying identifying the person because their legal department is currently looking into how exposed they now are?

Question, would MSU have this credential list, as the game was played at their house?

I don’t know if the home team gets the names for the visitor passes or is just told ‘we need 8 of them’.

I would assume if MSU had the names, and it was Connor Stalions, they would have said so by now. If they had the names and it wasn’t him, they may stay quiet just to have Michigan twist in the wind. ;)

To my knowledge, this is the only time he had bench passes instead of seats in the stands. So why did CMU do so?

Probably a friend on the staff for him in. Which means CMU was complicate, which is why they are being very quite.
