The problem is that 40% of residents are conservative.

It is not a problem, conservatives there need to work to win, Time is way past due for them to get off their lazy asses and begin to make political change. Instead of watching the NFL or TV and just complaining and bitching about high taxes along with diminished services, they must act. Less than 25% of those residing in NYC voted at all in the most recent election. Hochel won over Zeldin 53% to 47%. There were probably four million at least voters in New York State that did not vote at all. Anyone who remains a resident of a state that is being abused by state government taxing oppression needs to either move out of the state, work at the local level in galvanizing votes and support for conservatives or STFU and continue to be subjected to taxing tyranny. Laziness is the problem and the lazy deserve to be led around by the nose and be at the mercy of their oppressors.

That's easy to say. People stay in a state because of their job or because of their family.
