I was watching the background game from the first second...trying to figure out how the hell to play because it looks like fun haha. I think you spike it in the circle, so that none of the others can return it? No idea.

It is called Spikeball. My adult kids love the game. You can get it at many sporting goods stores. It was featured on Shark Tank a few years ago.

that game has been in the background in several of the earlier This Week ... videos this season. This particular video is the first one where the game was pretty easy to follow in the background. As @IrishinGA indicated, spikeball is pretty popular with young adult males.
