Should be fun. Before season started I really thought we’d shut them out. A lot has changed since then.
Right now they heavy favorites at 125, 157 and slight favorite at HWY.
I see us winning 7-3 with bonus at 141, 149, 174, 184 and possibly 197 depending on who we put out there.
If you’re an Iowa fan you gotta be thinking you can flip 133, Sorensen keeps to decision and the Bull wins, Wilcke squeaks one out and Stoll beats Nevills.
I think we bring the thunder.

I've got 285 as a toss-up along with 133. Iowa heavy favorites at 125 and 157. Penn State heavy favorites at 141, 149, 174 & 184. PSU modest favorite at 165.

I pledged $5 dollars to HWC for each Iowa win this year against a Penn State wrestler. Anyone else?
The only concern I have is that the team will have an emotional letdown after last weekend and shorthandedly beating the team that is our real competition currently.
He looks to be too basic and straight ahead to handle Joseph. It could be a Lewis type match (i.e. low scoring), but I don't see Marinelli's offense as being varied enough to penetrate Joseph's defense.
I tend to give my money to Wrestling for Life or the NLWC. If someone from HR agreed to reciprocate, I'd be up for it. The way HR runs their yaps about how great their fan base is, they don't need my help.
IMO only wrestler who has a chance against Cenzo this year is Imar. And Cenzo would be a favorite if they wrestled today.
That could happen if the staff were to allow it. What are the chances? There will be some extra pushing and prodding early in the week, followed by a couple days of intense training, an easement day ending with a peak on Saturday.
We will get to see a team peaked and ready to run on Saturday.
There won’t be any let down. The team knew what they could do. They knew Kuhn would battle. They knew AC would be right there. They see it every day. It was the fans whose eyes were opened.....along with the rest of the wrestling world.

Alton wasn't the "savior", a program saver. Nor did he come with a 3 inch binder. But yeah, he gassed at times.

i just watched Bo Nickal gas against Gravina. It happens to even the best of them.
If you have followed college wrestling long enough you may remember Joey Slaton from Iowa. He literally just laid on the mat completely gassed against ISU during a dual meet. Everyone was screaming at the returning national finalist to to get up but had no energy to move. Almost felt sorry for him. Can't imagine how he felt that day. Some guy named Dan Dennis took over at 133 after that... Point is it can happen to anyone. Nutrition, what you ate that day, sickness, poor training, coming back from an injury..
Something tells me Spencer will come around again.

How far has Iowa fallen.....this week only a few years ago was like christmas. Talking PSU vs hawks was nutty around here.
I check in at lunch and now there are 32 threads added to since my last drop in. Yet Hawk talk is less than a dual 2 days ago.

It’s a bold strategy but I could see where he’s going with it....especially if Iowa somehow went 0 fer. They’d go absolutely berserk when purecurve would make his trip over there after the match just to ask them who he should make the check out to.
I would rather donate to the IRS than the HWC.
