Impressive amount of money. Congrats PSU.
holyImpressive amount of money. Congrats PSU.
Big10 sucks.Where is the Big 2, I mean Big 10 Network?
Live video from BJC for the $ reveal.
At least two Pittsburgh stations covered it complete with videos. Not a ton of coverage but it was covered. The last hour at the BJC is as electric as any event ever held there. The effort that PSU students put in is incredible throughout the year. Thousands of students (dancers plus support staff) didn’t leave BJC for the entire weekend, and many of the THON leaders put in the equivalent of a full time job throughout the year to pull it off.
It is infuriating that it gets almost no national attention. Barely gets any mention even in Philly.
Greatest event PSU does every year. Needs more national attention. PSU communications team needs to get on it. If ever there was an opportunity to promote PSU nationally the good this group does it’s THON.Impressive amount of money. Congrats PSU.
I agree. On a fairly slow sports weekend.......having Big 10 or Big 10 plus cover seems warranted.....The last hour at the BJC is as electric as any event ever held there. 6 ABC dedicated a huge portion of Saturday afternoon to Thon. Don't know how long it was on, but mulitple hours.Barely gets any mention even in Philly
The local ABC station in Philly, 6abc, has covered this event every year, for several years now. They even have one of their news reporters live at the event with news updates that are shown on their 6 and 11pm newscasts for each night of the event. The last hour at the BJC is as electric as any event ever held there. And the Idiots on the Liar do their annual rant that THON is a scam - these people have to be the lowest scum ever to crawl the earth - the little brother syndrome will never go away with some of them - I hope we never ever play them in any sports forever and let them wallow in mediocracy for all of eternity. Ripping on other teams fans I get but ripping on a charity for kids is pathetic. At least two Pittsburgh stations covered it complete with videos. Not a ton of coverage but it was covered.
And PSU fans that care what Pitt has to say about PSU play right into their hands, feeding the obsession. Why read their boards at all? Who cares what Pitt has to say about anything? The only time I think about Pitt is when they are on the schedule, which fortunately isn't very often. And the Idiots on the Liar do their annual rant that THON is a scam - these people have to be the lowest scum ever to crawl the earth - the little brother syndrome will never go away with some of them - I hope we never ever play them in any sports forever and let them wallow in mediocracy for all of eternity. Who cares? They're fun to make fun of. They're actually a very culty fanbase, but it goes unnoticed because they're smaller and their athletic program has never won an NCAA title. And PSU fans that care what Pitt has to say about PSU play right into their hands, feeding the obsession. ^ This 100% We live in thier heads and they are total scum bags. And the Idiots on the Liar do their annual rant that THON is a scam - these people have to be the lowest scum ever to crawl the earth - the little brother syndrome will never go away with some of them - I hope we never ever play them in any sports forever and let them wallow in mediocracy for all of eternity. I find their takes to be entertaining, particularly in the slow season. They have a formula. They take any topic related to PSU, make up their own version of the story, then they're furious that nobody does anything to punish PSU reagarding their terrible exaggeration. Then they conclude the media and the state government are in our corner.^ This 100% We live in thier heads and they are total scum bags.
PSU could do a better job of getting the message out nationally about THON, but it's not like THON is unknown in other parts of the country. I know a lot of people in the Bay Area who have heard of it. I'll grant that many of them have SOME kind of connection to PSU (usually a friend or relative who went there), but it's still a very impressive thing. I think it is something that really sets PSU apart, and something PSU alums should be very proud of.Greatest event PSU does every year. Needs more national attention.
