Time to admit that Cael picked the wrong guy

Flying Tiger had the best response. There is no objective proof someone else would have been a better choice.

Subjectively. Two weeks prior to the B1G tournament Rasheed was still running on empty half way through a match. Many people who hang out in that room told me early on it would be a difficult cut to accomplish and maintain. Cael flat out said the kid's body simply would not let him wrestle 165.

The staff obviously recognized Rasheed's potential and tried several different approaches attempting to find a way to not only have the kid in the lineup, but capable of performing at an optimal level. The decision of who to wrestle at 165 was made for them. Morelli was easily the logical choice. To bitch or not to bitch about the kid on a message should have been an even easier decision.

The most amusing part about the OP's gum-flapping on this topic is that he is dead wrong - the weight of the actual evidence heavily suggests that GM went further than SR likely would have due to the tournament setting. GM went into his 7/8 Place match with a 2-1 record the first day which is very likely better than SR could have done in one day - he might have won his first, but that would have been it especially if he had faced the #1 seed in his second match.

When it comes to the NCVAA team championship, IMO it has to be first and always, we win as a team, we lose as a team.

Not exactly. We win as an 8 man team...which is a disadvantage compared to the Cowboys who will have all ten, and the Hawks who will bring 9.

The problem at 165, cost this team. Hwy could not be solved, the injury to Nevills was inevitable, the kid is injury prone, but at 165, we just couldn't seem to find the answers: One kid had shown he wasn't quite good enough to qualify for nationals, but is no doubt improving(hammond), another kid could not lose the weight(Rasheed) and the other kid had talent, but no way to score enough points to win close matches(Morelli)...the kid that would have advanced, Cenzo, was being redshirted...that's how we ended up with a hole, a BUNCH of bad luck.
