I-Mar is shredding Jake Ryan.
Saw a few of the matches, missed others with interwebz buffering fun ...
Match started at 285, Haines beat Black 3-2. Surprise that Snyder didn't go?
Richards dominated Orange DiJulius 8-3. Win not surprising, not closer maybe is.
BoJo 6-3 over Rodrigues. Controlling win, but not a score-at-will affair by any means.
Myles Martin TF over Illin' backup 149. Looked good, but nothing to learn from that match. Martin looked like he could've swallowed the other guy whole.
Courts sat, Rozema lost 15-6. Koepke dominated on feet. Rozema only got 1 shot in, a decent low single, but got hard whizzered off it and immediately counter-picked for 2.
Tomasello and Martinez by TF, ho hum.
197 back on, good, glad to see Martin OK.

Polite description. Martin stalled his rear off, blocked the entire match, got rewarded for it.martin came back out and refs allowed him to do nothing and win on a locked hands call. yukeyes win 22-17
Heavy. Word is he's around 230, which means he can't get to 197 until maybe B10s. I don't think he'll try to cut.I don't think Kyle Snyder' coming back until the PSU match. Nice timing. Wonder if he'll be HWY or 197 for that.
Snyder isn't going to wrestle for tOSU until the PSU dual in February. He is going to a couple overseas free style tournaments in January.
Snyder also said he isn't going to try to cut to 197. He will be strictly at 285. So we likely won't be seeing much of Thomas Haines after the end of January.
213.8 lbs. (97kg)What's the Olympic weight he is wrestling at? Isn't it the equivalent of ~197 lbs?
I am a little curious about his academic load. Is he enrolled in a semester abroad? Maybe cyber classes? Does not sound as if he will be spending much time on campusSnyder isn't going to wrestle for tOSU until the PSU dual in February. He is going to a couple overseas free style tournaments in January.

I hope it's not as groan-inducing as Logan's typical day that they showed at NCAAs last year. I think he had as much or more nap time scheduled as classes. It was like the schedule of a toddler at Little Learner's Day Care (e.g. Recess, snack, learning, nap, recess, beddy-bye time). Not a bad gig for a 23 year old college senior. They joke about Matt Brown's age, but Matt was pulling a 3.9 GPA and ROTCI am a little curious about his academic load. Is he enrolled in a semester abroad? Maybe cyber classes? Maybe Cael has both Van Cura and Smash weigh in at '97 and if needed sends Van Cura at '97 to lay one on Martin and Smash out take Snyder out!!
Actually hope both teams are healthy (come on Cutch!) and put on a great show with the Blue and White Smiling on the way out of the BJC.
Ohhhhh and the Scarlet letter crew enjoy a long ride home complaining of average official while battling the flue!

So you're asking if an Ohio State athlete is playing skool?I am a little curious about his academic load. Is he enrolled in a semester abroad? Maybe cyber classes? Does not sound as if he will be spending much time on campus

No inside info on what he's doing, just some process thoughts ...
He's just a SO, and he's training primarily in Columbus with travel. He did spend his HS SR year at the USOTC, so he has some experience with non-traditional education.
My question would be about next year. IIRC, the Olympic shirt allows athletes to take a leave from classes. Is that true? Also, NCAA eligibility requires passing min # credits the year before. If he didn't take classes and the NCAA doesn't recognize a leave with the shirt pulled, that may be an issue next fall.
I doubt there's an issue. Snyder may be taking classes, and Ryan certainly checked first. Unique situations bring interesting questions.
Are those mutually exclusive? (Sorry, too easy!)I read a lot....but I think I read somewhere he is taking 13 credits this spring. I could also be delusional.
