Top 5 football movies. I got 3. Convince me of the other two.

That has to be one of the worst movies ever made. Hall and Downey Jr were horrible actors as kids.
I've seen much worse. A lot of people hate it from the reviews, but a fair number of people liked it. Regardless, that scene was pretty funny.

Robert Downey Jr. was never a horrible actor. Not in anything I've seen.

I'm sure you said that for flair, or you just haven't seen many bad movies.
It was the 80's after all, good acting was hard to come by in that decade imo. Still enjoy the movies sometimes despite it.

I guess after reading so many replies I forgot that the OP listed All The Right Moves.

Also, FNL television show was better than the movie... don't @me

The Best of Times starring Robin Williams and Kurt Russel as the incomparable Reno Hightower. Can’t put my finger on it but I just like watching this at the start of every football season.

Reno Hightower was the greatest quarterback in the history of South Kern County.

That's My Boy. No, not Sandler but Martin & Lewis (1951)

Oh, and Paper Lion.

Woodlawn...true story and a huge Penn State mention in the end, though on the losing end. My favorite all time movie.

I sat down to catch up on some work (I'm a night owl) and Prime Video had Johnny Be Good. This scene outside Johnny's home had me laughing hard:

Alabama Booster: Alabama is where you should be.
Penn State Booster: Penn State is always in the Top 10. We kicked Alabama's butt last year. (shove Bama booster in chest)
Alabama Booster: That was one game (shoves back). It's freezing at Penn State. (another shove)
Penn State Booster: It's a normal climate. (shoves back)
Alabama Booster: Normal? Normal if you're a seal or an eskimo! (shoves back)
Penn State Booster: (Grabs jacket) It's good to see the seasons change. It's GOOD TO SEE THE SEASONS CHANGE! (both grabbing at the other)

I like that movie and loved that scene

Titans, Friday Night Lights and All The Right Moves in that order.

My Top three are in Alphabetical order. "All the right moves". "Everybody's All American". "Remember the Titans". "Any Given Sunday" was good also. "Brian's Song" has to be considered. "Friday Night Lights" also is in the mix. Of couse many around the country would consider "Rudy". You have "North Dallas Forty". "The Waterboy". How about "Heaven can wait". "The Longest Yard". Wow there goes one that I might put in my top five that I was not thinking about.
What about "Brian's Song" Brian Picholo and Gale Sayers

Jeez, I didn't read a word about "Knute Rockne, All American" and "Saturday's Hero." This one stars John Derek, the guy who married Bo Derek and Ursula Andress and someone else whose name I can't think of.
Also the original "Mash" qualifies because of the that great Football game they played.

Either The Absent-Minded Professor or Son of Flubber with Fred MacMurray. One was basketball and one was football, I can't remember which is which. Highlight of the football movie was when the placekicker kicked the holder over the goalposts.

I lived in the Johnstown area when it was made. It was big news locally, but it was a horrifically bad movie. Yes, Lea Thompson was a hottie, but her choice of scripts is questionable, given that she also appeared in Howard The Duck.;)
Thought the plot was great. I guess some folks don't like it.
