Saw this on the Rutgers board, where a lot of folks think Rutgers' poor results are due to a lack of financial resources. Maybe not.

List of the top budgets for wrestling and average results over the last 4 years. Turns out Oklahoma and Rutgers have the worst ROI in the top 10 (and Lehigh hasn't been very great, either).

Interesting........especially Oklahoma coming in with the 3rd highest budget, wow! Definitely not getting the ROI. I'm just surprised they are up there in budget. What are they spending their money on?

I would think scholarships would take up a good chunk if they are fully funded and a more expensive school. Coaches salaries would be a good amount depending on how many coaches. Then you have travel and facilities. The fact the exclude a NIL is a bit misleading.

I would be highly suspect of his data. He also recently posted a list of RTCs and wrestling clubs, and included the Penn State Wrestling Club. If that's the level of effort he was willing to put in for that list, I'm guessing the level of effort might be the same for the school data.

It's impossible to tell what's going on without numbers, and might not be easy to tell with numbers. The budgets are likely comparing applies to oranges since accounting practices vary from school to school.

PSU budgets some items at the Athletics level or the University level. IIRC Athletics owns the recruiting budget for all teams, because Athletics either owns or has collective access to the vehicles. Etc.

Fire Cael. Obviously underperforming.

Cornell is probably getting the most for he dollar.

Why don't people understand that those things are directional? She would have still fallen, but it wouldn't have been as painful.
Painful for whom? That hurdle looked flattened out like a pancake. I felt a little bad for the hurdle's family. They'll never see him in the storage shed again. Always wondering what happened to him, and never knowing the brutal death he suffered.
