tOSU vs. Rutgers today @ Noon EST

Yes, but take it from me, not many of your senior level classes are going to be offered online.
Because so many graduate level courses aren't available online either?

Besides, Snyder is a Sports Industry major -- the major intended to create future ADs. Faculty might be forgiving of athletics travel demands.

literally 1 guy who just came off a serious knee injury didn't wrestle. lol

Wait... I thought he had a wedding or something? It can not be the knee, he just wrestled Friday. So which excuse is it? Actually the bottom line is Ryan and Nato did not want to wrestle Suriano today. Quit making excuses about the knee, if it was so serious why did he take the mat on Friday??

False. I was asking a question, in regard to when he actually goes to school. No assumptions were made involving that.
you assumed that he couldn't take senior level classes online, and then stated that his wrestling accolades shouldn't offer him special treatment without proof of that.

What are you talking about? That guy said OSU ruined the dual because no one wrestled. I stated that every regular starter but one, no more no less wrestled.

Is he a grad. student? If so, even fewer graduate level courses, minus electives, are offered online. Again, take it from me.

Are you sure thats what i said? Check your facts bud. I stated that "Tom Ryan sure knows how to rob fans of a good dual."

And i stated that with 5 matches to go in the dual, not knowing who else would sit or not. Don't twist my words to promote your view of thinking. Thanks Tyler

I don't have to take it from you. I live in suburban PHL and my employer offers 200+ schools I can get graduate degrees from. Most of those offer online degrees, or online classes with an occasional on-campus seminar.

Also, when I was an undergrad a long time ago, I had the option of taking significant course load as ME 496 (senior level) "Independent Studies" -- i.e. undergrad research with requirements and timeline approved by my advisor. Did not require being on campus.

What line of thinking is that? I didn't state a line of thinking just a fact on who wrestled. Sorry to upset you, bud

Hayes has major gas tank issues and it would not surprise me at all if he loses early at NCAAs.
Campbell looks physically impressive, but that only goes so far.
125 got even tighter with Spencer in and NATO cutting a ton of weight and coming off a major injury.
Pletcher does appear to be cutting a lot of weight and that could easily impact him come tourney time.
In short, tOSU's vaunted depth appears to be highly overrated. Seems like they, in reality, are very top heavy with Snyder, Moore & Martin.

Wait so you are counting out people that are cutting a lot of weight, then turn around and count out pletcher because you don't think he's cutting enough weight?

Hayes was up 5-0 and then got hit with a lateral drop and put on his back and fought to not only get up but get up and then get the escape. He was dead at that point I mean i've seen almost every match he's wrestled this year and that was the first time he got gassed. That would be like questioning Valencia's gas tank because once this year in his second match against BoJo he got gassed. It happens sometimes, don't think that Hayes has a gas tank issue and got hit with a big move in a match he was completely in control of. It happens to guys not named Nolf, Snyder, and Zain.

Think OSU finishes with 9 AA's so don't know how you question their depth and they could go 10-10. Unless you are talking about backups but with limited $$$$ that wrestling is working with that happens at a lot of weights most places.

That's false, there is an insane number of Graduate degree programs let alone classes that are offered online. I know because i work in higher ed and i also have taught online college courses. So please, take it from me

No. I wrote that Pletcher IS cutting a lot of weight and that could impact him.

Don't think they'll get 9 AAs. Don't think Hayes or Campbell will AA. That's starting with 8, and there could be others who fall short as well.

Supposedly Snyder is close to a straight A student. Whatever arrangements have been made to allow him to compete, train and work towards a degree are IMO most likely something else that makes me in a very positive admiration way go "WOW".

Kyle Snyder is caption America.

Is it just me or is this Tyler guy the only person on the planet with more excuses than Tan Tom?

I agree 8 AA's is best case scenario for OSU.. Hayes and Campbell are R12 if that, considering Hayes is in terrible shape. Tyler is watching different matches that the rest of us because Hayes has gassed in every match that hasn't ended early. You can tell that Snyder does not train with the Buckeyes, he wrestle's a completely different pace. BoJo was underwhelming as well and could see Kutler giving him issues but should finish Top 5. Martin and Moore def look the part and I'm excited how our guys do against them. I think Bo is still ahead but Martin is a freak athlete and could catch lightning again. Mckenna looks tough but slows as the match goes on and Pletcher is eventually going to be upset with the close style he wrestles (reminds me of Dean Heil just not as quick)..

After watching that dual, OSU is overrated but not to the point of missing 2nd place. PSU should have it locked going into the finals. Can't wait to see if NATO dodges Lee or Lizak.. I tend to believe Cael, Brands, T Smith, B.Smith would all send their guy out and tell him see where he's at but I could be wrong.

Overall should be a fun NCAA's and rest of Dual season. Look forward to everyone staying healthy so the excuses stay to a minimum. :)

After watching Lock Haven and Iowa best The New Jersey State school I was left unfazed and still believing. However, after watching the ass kicking received today I am all befuddled. How can a perennial top-5 program be so freaking bad after picking up their best recruit ever. Does anybody know where I can go to report Rutgers for false reporting of being a good, viable and well coached top-5 wrestling program?

True on all except Brian Smith ... national #1 Dom Bradley had an injury that allowed him to wrestle immediately before and after Gelogaev, when Gelogaev had pinned him earlier in the same season.

Let's also add Pop, Dresser, and Flynn to the list of coaches who send their guys. Could be wrong but don't recall Santoro or Koll holding guys back. Also find it hard to believe J Rob would've.

I knew I should have put ETC after that. Agree with all those assessments and could prob add Kolat to that list, he just needs some guys to have in that position which I think he is progressing toward.

Vodka might have some information.

Yeah, especially since the tOSU pin at 184 was really quick IMO.

Agreed. Martin had him in huge trouble but the pin was signaled the instant the shoulders were down. Certainly no where near a full second count. IMO, Hayes' shoulders were down much longer and it wasn't called.

I'm not going to question Snyder's academics . . . or any other guy's academics. Pointless to do so, IMO, and has little to do with what we really want to see -- the best wrestlers hitting the mat as much as possible.

I don't question Snyder's travel, either. I would be surprised if tOSU were paying for it. But again, I don't care how he gets to the arena. If he's there, wrestling wins.

Deluca's throws were a thing of beauty today. Could do without the showboating, but I suppose that's the culture there. Really pretty throws, though.

Hayes may still be giving up weight.

Disappointed to not see Gravina go, but everyone knows his shoulder is in rough shape.

Didn't care for Suriano's reaction to the official at the end of his match when the official reached for his arm (as is customary) and Suriano snatched it away w/ bravado. I tried for a while to give him the benefit of the doubt with regard to my opinion if his personality, but I think that has now faded.

Where is the proof that he is not holding up his end of the bargain academically?
No where did I say he wasn't. In one of your replies to BanBBall, you infer that Snyder should be allowed special dispensation. I disagree with that inference. I do agree that his accolades do not earn him or anyone "...a privileged position..." in regards to NCAA rules. I have no proof nor am I alleging any improprieties. I am arguing that there is one set of rules and all student athletes play by them no matter who they are.

I'll continue to root for Snyder when he represents the US and when his interests do not conflict with PSU.

I can not come up with exact example, but Koll has in the past been beat up a little over not putting his full lineup on the mat.

Don't lose sight of what I was doing in my initial post. I was simply confused as to when he would going to school; not an unreasonable question, given that he is a COLLEGE STUDENT. :)

Have you for 22 years, and/or perhaps taught online regularly for 20 years?

Speaking of Rutgers .... I’ll be going to the PSU vs Rutgers dual

Is the RAC bleacher seating or individual chairs? Asking as my father has had multiple neck and shoulder surgeries and struggles with bleacher seats
If you have 100 or 200 level seats you will be in seats. The 300 level is bleachers. Student section at one end of the floor is bleachers. Mat side seating is chairs.(new this year). With the increased demand they now erect tiered seating on sides of the mat.

If you are in the bleachers maybe bring a seat cushion for your dad. Just explain his ailment to the guards and they'll let you in with it. Hope this helps.

Gibbons seems like a good guy but says a lot of dumb stuff.
He is hard to listen to. All he talks about is how many championships this coach won or that coach won and what the guys are ranked, how many people came to the meet, how excited the fans are, what high school the kid is from. BORING!!! Give me the Flo announcers and their banter any day.

Do you have any idea how many sets of hips have been late to parties over Gibbon's tenure?
