tOSU vs. Rutgers today @ Noon EST

He is hard to listen to. All he talks about is how many championships this coach won or that coach won and what the guys are ranked, how many people came to the meet, how excited the fans are, what high school the kid is from. BORING!!! Give me the Flo announcers and their banter any day.

No shit.

Don't lose sight of what I was doing in my initial post. I was simply confused as to when he would going to school; not an unreasonable question, given that he is a COLLEGE STUDENT. :)

Have you for 22 years, and/or perhaps taught online regularly for 20 years?
I've worked in education for 15 years, online for last 10. I've helped universities develop their online programs

No. I wrote that Pletcher IS cutting a lot of weight and that could impact him.

Don't think they'll get 9 AAs. Don't think Hayes or Campbell will AA. That's starting with 8, and there could be others who fall short as well.
Pletcher is a natural 133 pounder don't think that's a tough cut for him at all, he looks fine to me

Speaking of Rutgers .... I’ll be going to the PSU vs Rutgers dual

Is the RAC bleacher seating or individual chairs? Asking as my father has had multiple neck and shoulder surgeries and struggles with bleacher seats

They have individual seats. It is nice

Is it just me or is this Tyler guy the only person on the planet with more excuses than Tan Tom?

I agree 8 AA's is best case scenario for OSU.. Hayes and Campbell are R12 if that, considering Hayes is in terrible shape. Tyler is watching different matches that the rest of us because Hayes has gassed in every match that hasn't ended early. You can tell that Snyder does not train with the Buckeyes, he wrestle's a completely different pace. BoJo was underwhelming as well and could see Kutler giving him issues but should finish Top 5. Martin and Moore def look the part and I'm excited how our guys do against them. I think Bo is still ahead but Martin is a freak athlete and could catch lightning again. Mckenna looks tough but slows as the match goes on and Pletcher is eventually going to be upset with the close style he wrestles (reminds me of Dean Heil just not as quick)..

After watching that dual, OSU is overrated but not to the point of missing 2nd place. PSU should have it locked going into the finals. Can't wait to see if NATO dodges Lee or Lizak.. I tend to believe Cael, Brands, T Smith, B.Smith would all send their guy out and tell him see where he's at but I could be wrong.

Overall should be a fun NCAA's and rest of Dual season. Look forward to everyone staying healthy so the excuses stay to a minimum. :)
I get this is a psu wrestling board, and I'm on here cuz I'm from pa and have followed pa wrestling since I was little and enjoy following the pa kids no matter where they go. A lot of good info on this board, But my god you guys homer and conspiracy theory with the best of them, A tip of my cap to you for that.

You just called someone a Homer? The audacity is hard to believe considering your exaggerated love affair with OSU wrestling. Nothing homer about my post at all, it's an educated opinion based on what I've seen on the mat from both teams. I'll be glad to share this again come March if you'd like. You are entitled to your opinion as well, just do it on whatever OSU wrestling board is out there. You will probably be better received. Also if the conspiracy accusation is referring to NATO sitting, I can give you multiple examples of Tan Tom protecting seeds. Please feel free to call out what was conspiracy theory or homer about my post. I would love to debate it with facts.

Glad you agree... I was thinking Tyler was TT’s alter ego

I think it might actually be Tan Tom in disguise.. I went to the ASU vs OSU wrestling match in Columbus this year and Tom kept checking his phone and typing so it could be.. (Tyler, the last part about the cellphone was a joke in case you have any more conspiracy theories)

I'm not an Ohio state wrestling fan, It's an individual sport I follow the kids from PA mostly. I used to always follow the kids from manhiem holiday tournament, I'm from Manheim as they went off to college but now that Easton and others don't participate it's just not the same top end talent it used to be. Man that tournament used to be special. Always went to states in Hershey. You would see a kid like jamarr billman wrestle terry Jeffries in the semi's and lose in the Manheim tournament It was awesome. Then moved to Pittsburgh after college and as high school and college wrestling became easier to follow I began following more kids from outside pa.

But I root for pletcher, Nolf, Zain, Lee cuz I watched most those guys in high school. I'll root for Hoffman, and sasso. I'll root for Teasdale, I don't root for kids from just one team. Just like I rooted for the jones boys from greensburg Salem when they went to Wvu. Outside of that I root for kids who style I like, love watching fix wrestling, moore for OSU, gross for sdsu, Meredith, Valencia. I think like everyone else outside of Illini fans I hate Imar. Lol

But that's just me. We can debate anything you want when it comes to wrestling, I love the sport and will be in Cleveland this year. Just not sure this is the place where you can have a healthy debate if it doesn't include every psu wrestler not exceeding their seed and all 5 champs repeating. Also anyone not named Snyder for Osu not finishing below their seed.

Hell I was just told that NaTo would be lucky to finish 4th. I could be wrong but pretty sure NaTo has lost 2 college matches in what has to be close to 3 years now.

But we can talk anything you want wrestling, I love it. Especially since my alma mater IUP had been hosting a lot of events recently

Look, everybody. I have taught online for 63 years; and my dad taught online for 57 years before that; and my family has been teaching online since before the Mayflower landed (when they were still using dial up). If you have any questions, just ask me. What are we talking about again? :)
All I know is that none of you would have anything to do online without Al Gore the inventor of the internet

No not your post in particular for that I apologize. But the BoJo not wrestling at Maryland to protect seed seems silly. NaTo not wrestling with one days rest with the weight cut not coming off a knee injury vs suriano seems smart. I mean arguably the top 4 wrestlers at 125 are all in the big ten so it will take care of itself and just doesn't seem likes its NATO's DNA. He wrestles all over all year round agaisnt whoever. I do however think that Cruz gets overlooked

I never said Nato would be lucky to finish fourth and based on previous years is on a short list to win IMHO. I also never said all OSU wrestlers would finish below their seed, giving MyMar props along the way. What I did say was Hayes is overrated and I stick to that. The bigten schedule I think will prove my point but I will let it play out. As far as Homerism, I am a PSU fan but saying they should have it wrapped before the finals isn't me being a homer. It's actually a little non-homer because last year it was locked up before that. I do agree that there are a few here that give the educated wrestling fans a bad name but I think you will see there are some very insightful people on this board and the rest you have to take with a grain of salt.
I didn't like you at first but you seem like you know your stuff for the most part. 2 people can watch the same match and come away with 2 very different digestions and I respect anyone's opinion that's based on how you perceived how the match went. I also was an IUP alum (class of 2005) so you get another point there. I also hate IMar so we might have a bit more in common than the other wants to admit. I'll be glad to debate anytime. I watch more wrestling than any man should and I know that is a fact because my wife told me and she has never been wrong. ever...

I'm a 2002 Iup grad did the 5 1/2 year plan. Lol
I thought Hayes looked like the better wrestler in both his losses. Just my opinion. That's the beauty of the big ten, outside of maybe 141 and 197 there is nowhere to hide this year . Just a down year in the big ten at 141 and 197 is a weak division country wide.

Sooner or later your wife will relent and allow you to coach, watch, attend wrestling (events) as much as you pretty much desire. As long as her birthday (or in El-jefe's case, anniversary) is not ignored.
On the path to that point though, she will have her pound(s) of flesh.

Wait so you are counting out people that are cutting a lot of weight, then turn around and count out pletcher because you don't think he's cutting enough weight?

Hayes was up 5-0 and then got hit with a lateral drop and put on his back and fought to not only get up but get up and then get the escape. He was dead at that point I mean i've seen almost every match he's wrestled this year and that was the first time he got gassed. That would be like questioning Valencia's gas tank because once this year in his second match against BoJo he got gassed. It happens sometimes, don't think that Hayes has a gas tank issue and got hit with a big move in a match he was completely in control of. It happens to guys not named Nolf, Snyder, and Zain.

Think OSU finishes with 9 AA's so don't know how you question their depth and they could go 10-10. Unless you are talking about backups but with limited $$$$ that wrestling is working with that happens at a lot of weights most places.
Wow that sounds like a good bet for Wrestling for Life. I’m interested, cowboy can hold the donations... still waiting for payment of my previous bet with someone named Mike Tognelli.

Def the better wrestler in today's match just had nothing left in the tank, can't say I agree in the Heilman match but I should prob go rewatch before I completely commit to that. I think Deacon and Wick will both finish higher in the tournaments. 141 will be fun to see how it plays out as I think NLee has a good chance at beating Mckenna but would give Mckenna the nod at this point. Hayes conditioning issues I think will be his downfall. He is an impressive athlete that could be scary if he got his lungs right. I'm not a fan of Pletcher but only because he wrestles way too tight for me. Not a fan of winning matches by 1-2 points and I feel the same way about BoJo.. Never opens up against good guys. I think Hall and Zahid are on a different level and I think Kutler is underestimated and has the strength + technique to stay with Bo and steal one. Imar is a finalist IMHO and Moore and Snyder are on different levels as well. Moore could be surprised at Nationals but any loss will be an upset. It wouldn't surprise me if NATO took fourth but it also wouldn't surprise me if he won it comfortably. Have to see more of him.

I remember the anniversary thread and remember thinking of myself in that same situation. I feel for you El-Jefe and did not contribute to the fun had at your expense.

You’re about 10 yrs younger than me Tyler but I went to college with a couple of Mannheim guys. Great dudes. Played football with them in college for 4 yrs. they went to Manheim Central

Thanks, but I don't mind dogpiling there. What's a little ball busting between online friends?

In one way it's not terrible: she's a casual baseball fan -- we've been to Spring Training twice. So if we can ever convince the NCAA to hold nationals in Tampa, I'm set.

Yeah I mean watching pletcher is maddening sometimes. Not as much as BoJo cuz BoJo is way more talented. Pletcher has always wrested that way though. But he beat yanni wrestling that way at WNO, think he split with redd wrestling that way in hs. Trust me id like to see him open up just have come to grips he's going to wrestle a ton of close matches

Pletcher is 1/2 of my favorite high school wrestling match of all time against AC Headlee. I'm sure you have seen it but man that match was one for the ages. Both got a standing ovation after all said and done.

That's awesome.

OT but I would have bet almost anything coming out of high school that jimmy gulibon would have been a 4x aa His career is still baffling to me

Interesting. Well, I guess phone sex can be instructional....;)

O$U will limp into the B1Gs and Nationals. ToMo and Hayes are cutting weight. Hayes was a rag doll at the end. Completely empty. That doesn’t all of a sudden change. Got to think Pletcher is cutting, too. The Jordan’s will be dinged up as will McKenna. Campbell looks like he could be dinged up. Bucks will be riding Martin, Moore, and Snyder.

I’m sure Snyder takes online classes.
Hayes isn’t cutting any serious weight he was aiming to go 141 this season and lost out on the spot to McKenna. He looks like a good size for the weight but i still don’t think he has put on the necessary weight to wrestle at 149
