TRs new rule - after the nolf injury

I don't know how much it'd actually help decrease knee injuries, but guys who grab shoes (as opposed to ankles) are usually doing it to stall. Not much of value would be lost if it became a rule, and if it helps decrease knee injuries, bonus.

Fake news. The real Foley would've blamed singlets or the lack of a pushout rule.

Yeah it would also mean no Bow and arrow which should be banned. Along with the BS leg pinching ride

I see a lot of posters on various boards saying that Nolf caused this injury to himself . I am not saying VanBrill did anything dirty or malicious but I think people need to watch the video a little closer ... the whole scramble is nothing we haven’t seen many times but if you watch, just prior to the point of injury VanBrill sits straight up on his hips ... he has the ankle and takes it up and against the natural way a knee is meant to bend ... which is where you actually see Nolf knee pop ...AGAIN .. I don’t mean it like VanBrill tried to intentional hurt Nolf ... wrestlers are trained to hold positions and make the other wrestler ‘give’ ... the ref is responsible to be tuned into PD calls ... I just don’t see that ‘Nolf did this to himself’

I would recommend listening to what Cael said tonight on the radio.

And re. the Foley tweet, and responses, sounds good on the surface. Another rule that would make the referee's job more challenging, though? Can imagine the discussions about where the foot ends and the ankle begins. Impossible to call consistently, imo.

I think that having a 5 count start as soon as a foot is grabbed by hand (this does not include trapping it at the elbow or wrist where you are not actually twisting the foot) could eliminate some of the PD elements and defensive stalling.

This makes sense and seems more reasonable than outright banning a body part.

OTOH one of Cael's long running complaints about officiating is that their job is too complex with so many things to watch for in a match. Not sure which side of the line any of this would fall on.

And frankly not sure it's all that urgent. Jason is a very high profile injury and regrettable but how many of them are there, that justifies any rule change?
