That was an ugly loss. PSU was down 1-5 at one point (I think that Jones got pulled after giving up 4, although 2 were breakaways/steals and it sounds like a missed interference call rattled him a bit) and most the damage was *not* from the KHL line I think. Made a game of it and had a PP midway through the 3rd down 3-5... if PSU could have scored there, I think that they would have found a 5th goal (not saying MSU wouldn't have found a sixth, lol). Fell from 4th to 6th in standings and from 16th to 18th in the Pairwise. Tonight is a must win and they have to find a sweep during the next two weekends... Go Lions!

Michigan State had won 5 straight matches before facing PSU.
Good chance Iowa winds up as B1G regular season co-champ, as they were not on PSU schedule this year; too bad, that would have been interesting, though PSU would be heavily favored overall.

As an aside, they didn’t wrestle UM or OSU either. Not their fault but that is some bad scheduling.

No ... but complaining that those sports are not talked about here after a nondescript dual seems strange when ... if you really cared ... there is a wrestling board.
I love wrestling talk on any board. And I am sure it will kick up here some during BIGs and NCAAs. But being snarky about no talk here when there is another board dedicated and very active seems strange.

I’m just shocked that no one posted anything about this match - especially the Nickal pin which was all over social media - after the rather lengthy thread on this board about the OSU match. No one pointed out the (well known) existence of the wrestling board then. Suddenly, trying to share info with folks who are interested in wrestling but don’t venture to that board is a crime. Will keep quiet next time. Cheers.
We’ve been spoiled but at the same time I have a hard enough time justifying the time I spend on this board without looking to spend even more time on another.

My guess is most casual fans didn’t even know there was a match last night - sort of key information if you’re expected to follow along on the wrestling board. But, any time someone can snipe at you on here they will. Comforting.
Exactly right. Maybe I'm lazy, but if I'm here and see a wrestling thread, I'll open it. I rarely venture over to the wrestling board.
I miss the match updates by JonZ. He did a great job of updating the results of individual matches. Does anyone know why he stopped?

Yeah, well documented. His personal beliefs about board courtesy were bigger than his commitment to being here and posting - very admirable.
I really thought, and hoped, he would be back. He was a valued member and no one has stepped in to fill the void. I think the courtesy issue has improved but there are still too many personal attacks.

Instead of bemoaning his absence, you could easily get your fill on that board. what the hell is wrong with you people? noone criticized you for posting wrestling talk here. all we said (paraphrasing) was 'if you missed it, or wanted to hear others perspectives, there is another place to look'. If the (original) title of the thread had been "what did you guys think of the MSU wrestling match last night?" you would have gotten different responses. But to title a thread "why no wrestling talk?" or something to that effect the only logical response is to tell you where the wrestling talk might be.
i am guessing if I started a thread called "why no politics talk?" someone would pretty quickly direct me to the test board.

This will be my last post about wrestling and this thread. I think a few here know about the wrestling board - some, like you, are very well aware and are probably more familiar with the team, wrestlers, tradition, schedule, scoring, etc. than a lot of others (myself included). My post had nothing to do with JonZ noting there are many here who appreciated the 'one stop shopping' he provided (can check one board and participate in multiple conversations without jumping back and forth between boards) for wrestling and women's volleyball and they said as much (I think they also like his uncluttered presentation and constant updates).
I've been slowly getting into wrestling - mostly by seeing clips here and there on twitter and on this board (the aforementioned match against OSU, which had multiple threads on this board on the Friday it happened) and noticed there were other casuals who liked seeing Nickal's pin against OSU. I saw a similar clip on twitter this evening and thought, 'When did this happen? I didn't see an update on the BWI Board. Maybe it's old? Dunno.' I quickly figured out it was from last night and thought, 'Hey - this might be something some people on the board might like given how excited they were for the OSU pin.' And I shared it, with an FC in the thread title, a day after the match. It wasn't a play by play, or supposed to suggest no one here isn't talking about wrestling - I've never been to the wrestling board mostly because I know nothing about wrestling nuance or scoring and like when folks here who know more give their take. Just sharing and seeing what others thought. I know there are many folks here who don't like me and who take every opportunity to snipe or sh*t on what I post - that is what I didn't like about the thread, and when Hotshoe jumped in to tell me, and others, that people were talking about wrestling and hockey on other boards, well - I wonder why we have FC; my point was that no one HERE was talking about the match, and I wonder if we're all just expected to know where all the great talk is happening. Once that happened, members of the fan club saw a chance to pile on, and they did, and then it becomes worthless.
Anyway, won't post about wrestling again - will leave it to the pros.

I posted this in my last message, but my point was that NO ONE HERE - ON THIS PARTICULAR BOARD - WAS TALKING ABOUT LAST NIGHT'S MATCH. Or didn't appear to be, thus the FC. Again, lesson learned.
