If a player @ tOSU sees that it is rather obvious he cannot ever start (if no injuries) then he can transfer to Vanderbilt.
But if a player is not willing to work harder & wait his turn then transfers because he thinks he should start then you don't want that player on your team.
If a player @ Vanderbilt far surpasses expectations, he could transfer to tOSU because he has stars in his eyes. No loyalty here.
But a star player @ Vanderbilt could transfer to tOSU because he knows (or was offered) 5x NIL $. Again no loyalty here.
If a star player has to needlessly put up with a sour locker room or realizes this HC is just not capable then he should transfer.
The biggest problem is that if there is a coaching change then most of the roster scatters. They are not loyal to their school. They are only loyal to their coach. They become so attached to their coach that they just can't handle the change. Some won't even give their new coach a chance let alone feel out the new coach.
You want to weed out those you don't want on your team but too many players transfer for various wrong reasons.
There is not the loyalty by too many players to their school like us fans have.
