Unnofficial IOU Hawks @ Merryland Twerp Turtles Thread

Iowa doing the RUTS to pass PSU in the ranks.

Acting like a top 5 team.
I could care less if Iowa passes PSU in the polls this week....under one condition....as long as PSU defeats IU. Next weeks game would confirm the switch (if Iowa wins) and correct it (if PSU wins) no sweat.
I think the team and coaches have done a fantastic job of putting last season in the rear view mirror(to date).
However, I'm not drinking the top 4 or 5 hemlock just yet. My thoughts were 8-4, I'm still at 9-3 after the first 4 wins. Teams destined to reach the playoffs will get better each week, have some luck and most of all stay healthy.
Even then, history tells us that the conference schedule is full of potential ambush losses.....let alone at Iowa, at OSU, etc.

Iowa is a tough out especially at their place. I really doubt we run the table…our schedule is too tough and getting OSU and Iowa on the road is a killer.
"I really doubt we run the table"

True - at most, there will be 2 teams that will run the table this year. Realistically, a loss at Iowa is meaningless as long as we beat OSU and win the B1G.

Penn State is at a different level than MD, Indiana, and yes, Iowa. We might as well be the team to expose Iowa this year, because they will get exposed.

This really is the year for Penn State to win the BIG. No other team in this conference is without glaring weaknesses, and our coaching staff is as suited to exploiting those weaknesses as any staff we have had here in many years.

I’m getting a 1985-86 vibe about this Penn State team.

One thing is for sure, we are the last obstacle for Iowa. Have you seen their schedule? No OSU, no Michigan, no Michigan State. Just a whole bunch of Illinois, Purdue, Northwestern and Minnesota.

Iowa wins the west easily.

Iowa is a team dotted with 3 stars , Goodson recruited by MI St. & Kentucky. Their O line seemed good against a MD line that seemed mediocre. They didn't have burners at wr but they knew how to get open against a weak Md secondary, Md's linebackers terrible coverage against Iowa's TE, and RB in the flat.
Iowa always looks strong and hard nose tackling on D.

I know gotta beat Indiana first but i'm expecting a lot of the run game tonight.

Five int is impressive but Maryland is a really badly coached hot mess of a team.
*6 int, 7 total Turnovers. :p

Maryland played poorly at home with a packed house(many of them Hawk Fans) on national TV. Penalties were killer for them aswell. When Demus went down on that kick return and fumble, it really knock the wind out of them. Unfortunate for the Turtles.

Really looking forward to next week's battle in Iowa City. I will be there and look forward to chatting with the PSU fans at the tailgates. Much respect for your program (wrestling included as much as that pains me to say);)

I hope you win against Indiana so the Gameday crew will show up at Kinnick. Best of luck today. See you next weekend!
