Going back to a convo from December?, it looks like all 3 should get to 15 falls. Getting to 20 will be tough and nobody will break the season record.
If they had made Reno, 20 would be possible for all 3.
Hall factors into that, but didnt at the time of the previous conversation. That said he could certainly make 15 falls happen.
I believe it was Roar that pointed out the difficulty of hitting the pin mark and he was right then and now. To break that record you have to work at in off schedule tourneys in my opinion.
To put dunke's post in context, here are the numbers:
PINS IN A SEASON
1. 24 - Josh Moore, '03-04
2. 22 - Scott Moore, '02-03
3. 20 - Cary Kolat, '93-94
4. 18 - Andrew Alton, '10-11
5. 16 - David Taylor, '13-14
----16 - Josh Moore, '02-03
7. 15 - Jason Nolf, '15-16
----15 - Zain Retherford, '15-16
----15 - David Taylor, '11-12
----15 - Bill Marino, '82-83
--------------------------------
13 - Zain, '16-17
12 - Nickal, '16-17
11 - Hall, '16-17
11 - Nolf, '16-17
If weather issues had not prevented PSU from getting to Reno, the guys in question would likely have wrestled 5 matches (assuming they got to and won the finals). (I'm not including Hall in these calculations, as he was still redshirting at that point.) If Zain had gotten 3 pins at Reno, he'd already be tied for 5th in the season pin record, and would still have the National Dual match, B1Gs, and NCAAs.
