Lamar Stevens block was the play of the game. Play no D until final 4 minutes and win. Very hard to watch but these guys need to learn how to win. By the way, Carr is not ready for any type of NBA team.
Carr is ready. He didn’t care or even try til 4th last night though. Awful game for himLamar Stevens block was the play of the game. lay no D until final 4 minutes and win. Very hard to watch but these guys need to learn how to win. By the way, Carr is not ready for any type of NBA team.
Great shooting down the stretch saved another poor coating effort by Chambers. Temple coaching made Chambers look like a JV coach again.
Please explain how that game was on Chambers. When you’re team can’t make a shot, there’s not much a coach can do. I’m not a big Chambers fan, but sometimes the players have to play better.Great shooting down the stretch saved another poor coating effort by Chambers. Agree that there are nights when the shots just aren't going in but that's not an excuse for poor defense. Please explain how that game was on Chambers. When you’re team can’t make a shot, there’s not much a coach can do. I’m not a big Chambers fan, but sometimes the players have to play better.

Did you see an Offense? It was clear we have no motion or offensive sets. Our offense is.....ball screen and try one and one penetration. The opponent coaches know to pack the zone, contest the 3's to stop us and Carr! Temple ran an offense and scored easily. We doubled the ball screen and made it easy for backdoor cuts. No adjustments!! If we didnt get hot down the stretch, we would have lost! It was clear who the better coach in that game was! Please explain how that game was on Chambers. I saw several high pick and rolls where the pick and roll guy was WIDE open going to the hope and nobody delivered the ball. I get you want to shoot threes, but if you don't soften the paint area, the defense just has to defend the perimeter.Did you see an Offense? It was clear we have no motion or offensive sets. PSU led the BiG in isolation baskets (1 on 1). Carr and Watkins were excellent at screen roll but Watkins is unjured now.I saw several high pick and rolls where the pick and roll guy was WIDE open going to the hope and nobody delivered the ball. Yeah, we get it revenge. We know where you have stood on this issue since before the B1G tournament.
But, far be it for the TRUE PENN STATE fans to continue following THEIR team. Not YOUR team, but it is OURS and many will continue watching the Nittany Lions win, lose or draw.
OL
Right--because I don't overhype our team I'm not a fan--gotcha
The NIT is a joke...we all know that...if you enjoyed getting to watch Garner and probably Carr more one time that's great. Glad you'll get to see them play ND. Hopefully they win and Garner's career gets to continue. He's an easy kid to root for.
His team went winless in the conference and is now looking for a coach. Not much fun in that, I guess. You stick to your team's games.
I would rather watch PSU in the NIT than any complete tournament game. I could care less who wins any of those games (although I would prefer Big10 teams to lose), and really there is no reason to watch until the last 2 minutes anyway. If I didn't fill out a bracket, I wouldn't even check to see who won. I have an interest in whether PSU wins or loses, so I will watch all of their games. You stick to your team's games.
A win is a win, I guess.
I haven't watched much PSU basketball but did see two of the tOSU games and the first half of last night's game.
Ouch. A win is a win but PSU didn't do the brand any favors. A complete lack of energy and the arena being half full. The game sounded, over my TV speakers, like the first round of a high school girls basketball game on the local public service TV. There were so few people, a handful of kids changing was all that was picked up. And with the defensive errors, the lack of ball movement and just horrible basics created an awful viewer experience. It looked like a completely different team than the one that be tOSU. I'd like to give credit to the opponent, but when there is no movement and you are missing wide open shots that is hard to do. Perhaps this was great experience, to be in a one-and-done game, for this team. Looking forward to ND to see if we play better.
very good...I just watched the first half....looked like almost all of the upper section and most of the sections behind the baskets were empty.Interesting take, I haven't watched the recording yet but it was quite a bit different actually being there. The student section is NOTHING like when I was a student in the early 1990s, much better support.. and it really seemed pretty loud during those last 4.5 minutes.. Just my take, having been there..
I’ll watch the NIT if PSU plays. Otherwise, it’s only quality NCAA tourney matchups if I have time. Then you're not a fan of the sport and have literally no basis for actually having an intelligent discussion about the sport if you only watch "your team". It's laughable that anyone would pass on better basketball to watch the NIT IMO

Laughable? Really? I’ve never picked a better matchup over watching my team. To each his own.

I don't post about basketball ever, so at least we agree there. Was just responding to one of your many ridiculous posts. Not sure why, because I know you are on here only to rile people up.
Nobody here cares if it's meaningless to you. Penn State is in the NIT so Penn State fans care. Your opinions are meaningless here. You're talking about a meaningless post-season tournament. It's like putting a scrimmage ahead of the SB. Last night the NCAA games weren't on so unless you're a Pens fan that could have watched Pens-Rangers you're weren't picking that over a better sporting event. Again, if you just wanted to see Carr and Garner in what could have been their last game I respect that. It was horrible basketball and pretty much everyone agrees about that...at least I think so
Now, yes, with Penn State football, given there's only 12 games + bowls/champions games/etc, I'd watch that over a better matchup....unless we're playing Georgia State or something then I'll watch until it's over and then flip between games (would never attend that type of game in person).

Apparently pride is something you lack.Let's pretend we win the NIT....what's the meaning behind it? Is that something you take pride in?
Honestly, it's the NIT

They gave up 57 points...not exactly poor defense.Agree that there are nights when the shots just aren't going in but that's not an excuse for poor defense.

So then I guess today’s game proved the committee got it wrong putting Oklahoma in.I'm shocked people care about the NIT. I turned on the last 5 minutes. It was a very nice comeback but it reinforced the committee's decision to leave us out of the tournament and put us as a 4 seed in the NIT.

And I agree most of PSU’s performance was bad basketball. Moving on.
I don't take pride in meaningless things. I don't want a 69th place trophy. Or even a 50th place trophy if you want to see whomever wins the NIT is better than most 13-16 seeds.
