the more I hear about this team, the more is feels like a game we are not going to like. It does not appear to be the walk in the park we need. We need a team we can whack by 50 pts on our worst day. It does not look like that team. their relative scores look like a team that could play with a lot of D1 teams.

anyone follow them to understand the matchups?

Lots of rushing yards the first game but not much since. Looks like they throw it around a bunch but not really huge numbers.

Impossible to judge much from the matchups and the numbers.

Don't see how PSU can win with Clifford as our only option at QB.....and CJF's constantly changing the OC's play calls. Personally, I think this is the year the PSU defense hits rock bottom.......this is the least talented D of the Franklin Era ......

Laughable of course but I offer a prediction. Inasmuch as their qb is apparently not much for the deep ball, someone in psu’s secondary is going to jump a route and take it to the house.

Lot's and lot's of snaps for the #2s on the not for our eyes depth chart. Snaps in the second half for those lower on the totem pole. Uninspired, vanilla offensive play will lead to outrage and detailed criticism from the BWI CAC and predictions of doom vs Indy. Defense will bend a great deal more than would be expected vs Nova and field goals will be the order of the day. All in all a very unsatisfactory mid season scrimmage with the primary goal to keep all key contributors healthy and provide playing time to keep the rest "happy."

They’re a very small team that’s fast…of course, that’s fast compared to other FCS teams. They haven’t seen speed like ours or size. Their QB is very small so may have some issues with our bigger players. I think it will be a comfortable win, but closer than some think only because we will play a lot of backups and keep things very bland. I think we have a lot more in the playbook that we haven’t revealed because we have a lot of big games coming up…we won’t see these Saturday. It will be a great game for the Franklin critics on this board because we won’t beat them 100-0.

The BWI CAC is comprised of more than a dozen "accomplished" coaches....they are blessed with the powers of omnipotence and omniscience when it comes to "guiding" James Franklin and the other "unwashed" that he calls a coaching staff.

I think this team is better off the more they play tough teams. I think it helps them more to play competent teams than to play tomato cans.

Mohammad Ali vs the Bayonne Bleeder is the matchup

I think we'll spend some time working on our run blocking.

Yes, but Clifford now goes under center, so all is well. Really working on those 3rd and shorts as was predicted.

Yep, those QB sneaks are never stopped. oops.....did I mention we need a fullback?

Penn State will win 35+ and it will seem a lot worst then that. I am sorry, I know being a Philly school there is a ton of love for Nova on here, but they are not close to us in FB. The talent level is going to be way to much, and the coaching staff here is a ton better for games like this.

I expect we see a lot of backups in the second half.

I say PSU wins 44-6 or something like that.

Some on here will look at 44-6 as a failure.

There's not much to be learned from their schedule. Lehigh is 0-3 and has been outscored 110-6; Bucknell is comparable to Lehigh going 0-3 and being outscored 106-9; and Richmond's two wins are against Lehigh and a Howard team that is 0-3. Nothing 'Nova has done to this point would be grounds to believe they can play with bad FBS teams much less a good one.

WTF happened to Lehigh? Weren't they in the playoffs a few years ago?

I heard on 97.5 in Philly that Brian Westbrook is going to be on the Nova sidelines for the game. He’s going up with Mike Missinelli and plans doing the whole tailgating thing. Missinellli is a PSU grad.

Just get the W and stay healthy! Nobody will award style points beating up a FCS team. Hopefully our starters can get a comfortable lead then sit so that our depth gets more experience, especially Roberson.
