Vultures circling for Joe Mo. he earned the love for sure

Interesting...thanks for posting that.

I would think that next year, or the year after, JoeMo can take a serious power 5 head coaching job. No offense to Purdue, but the ceiling is rather low and its a tough job (in state with ND and in the B1G).

If we can be in the CFP convo for the next year or two, and we have every chance of doing that with the depth we now have and TM at QB, he can go to a high end school like a GA or Auburn or Michigan State, IMHO.

If I am JoeMo, I am good for at least another year, and probably two.

I have a hard time believing Franklin would bring Moorhead onto the staff w/out a minimum 2-3 year commitment to the program. If he can get this team into the playoff, his offers would be a lot more attractive than Purdue and the like.

Rumors like this are the nature of the beast though, and mostly come from agents, not the schools. Can't get too worked up about it. Having your assistants in demand is a sure sign they're doing something right.

I think we have at least one more season out of Moorhead pending something unexpected occurring; I can't blame him if someone like Notre Dame ends up firing Kelly and they offer him, for example.

However long he's here, I'll enjoy watching this offense play. 2017 has the look of a very, very special season. And, when/if Moorhead gets his opportunity, I trust Franklin to make the next hire. I'm not looking forward to the freakout, though.

Here's to a longtime staff of Moorhead (Ganter) and Pry (Bradley) and loyal assistants.
Give CJF an extension in December 2017, nice pay raise, and then pay heavily to the two coordinators and other assistants.
I'm dreaming, yes, but a long-loyal staff like Joe's would be fun to watch develop over the next 4 - 5 years and see where this program could go.

Well, the Coordinator game can be pretty lucrative these days....maybe we pony up to keep him?

The more widespread the praise for JoeMo, the more recruits will want to come and play for him.

This was the system that Franklin wanted to run and he went out and found the guy (to some skepticism) who ran a system like that. My guess is he could promote from within and keep the same system. Limegrover was a longtime OC at Minny. Gattis is highly regarded, etc. You have stud running QBs in the '17 and '18 classes in Clifford and Fields. The train is going to keep moving down the tracks. Franklin will be the constant.

With HC experience I would think he could get a better job than PU

I don't know. Did CJF run this offense at Vandy? I thought not. The Minny offense was a pro-set and Gattis was at Vandy.

This offense, IMHO, is all JoeMo. I am sure we'd get a quality coach, but JoeMo is the architect. It would be a big loss.

Again, Franklin knew the offense he wanted to run and went out and found the guy to run it. Moorhead was not some hot Coach on the top of everyone's lists for OC hires.

I listened all offseason about how Shoop was a defensive genius and what a blow losing him was going to be.

Franklin will be running an offense that looks like this JoeMo or not.

Yeah, I don't think there would be a problem at all finding someone that will continue to run this system. Frankly, this system is a "dime a dozen" in CFB today.

What separates JoeMo IMO are his abilities to game-plan (watch tape of opponents, actually understand what the D is doing, and develop appropriate game plans), and in-game play calling. That's where he earns his pay check IMO.

I would assume that a guy like Ricky Rahne is learning everything he can from Moorhead right now.
Ivy League educated, passing game coordinator. I think he would be a fantastic next man up.

Also helps that we have ridiculous talent at WR and RB. I get he was successful with this offense at Fordham, but my guess is talent-wise, all those programs are pretty similar.

I think the ideal situation would be hang on to JoMo at least another year and promote from within.

I also like Rahne because he's coached QBs, and has actual playcalling experience.

The other thing about Rahne is that he appears to have an eye for QB talent. McSorley and Stevens were his guys I believe.

i totally agree. A copy is a copy. Reminds me of Gretzky's "don't skate to the puck, skate to where the puck is going to be." JoeMo knows where the puck is going to be. Everyone else is a copy. That's not to diss any other coach, its just that this offense is JoeMo's.

Dear JoMo:

Please stay forever, like Franny Ganter. You kids will love the State College Area School District, the outstanding sports teams there, and growing up in State College. You and your wife will love it there too, the longer you stay. Please stay forever.

Well, sort of like that.

Don't put your son on the field however, if he belongs at Juniata College and goes 5 for 28.
