1) Made the trip from Chicago, which is only 2 hours if that. Purdue has shrunk their stadium since the last time I was there. They used to have stands and both end zones, but now they have a bar on the side of the score board. They stadium was probably only 60% full and there was a fair amount of PSU fans.

2) I bought my ticket for only $20, but almost got a free ticket from an older lady (Purdue fan) whose husband decided not to go. She gave it away for free to the person standing right next to me! It was a PSU fan to. I was humbled by the act of kindness.

) Purdue has a small stadium, similar to Northwestern. Since they are down right now, it's easy to move around the stadium since there are so many empty seats. I was able to get very close to the where the PSU team entered onto the field. I saw Sandy Barbour and the rest of the PSU coaches as the team ran onto the field. Sandy was out there much before the team and I thought about saying something to her. I wanted to tell her not to make stupid decisions and NOT to shrink Beaver stadium too much. Don't go below 100K and aggravate half the fan base. I used my better judgment and kept my thoughts to myself.
The last time I got that close to the players running on and off the field was in 2011 when PSU played at Northwestern. Right before the scandal. Joepa sat in the press box and I saw him close up.

4) The game itself was awesome. I was sweating the first half with it being tied at 17 at halftime. I knew Purdue wasn't very good and was glad to see the offensive explosion of 48 pts in one half. I can't remember the last time PSU put up 60 points. Hopefully it happens more often! If things go well, it could happen at Rugters again this season.

5) Purdue students chant IU Sucks at every kickoff. It was bizarre, but I liked the hatred for their instate rivals.

6) Having gotten up close to the players, I got to see Saquan up close. He is huge. Basically a ball of muscle. A bowling ball if you will.

7) Purdue's campus isn't too bad. It's not as happening as PSU or Ann Arbor, but it's a good Big 10 campus.

8) Mackey Arena is right next to the stadium and you can actually walk in there even though there is no game. Their basketball team happened to be practicing Saturday morning. Although their football program is down, their B-ball program is good.

9) I love the energy Marcus Allen provides to this team. He is always hooting and hollering and also dancing. He is a fun player to root for.
