The Giants are exceptionally bad. Not sure how their OLine can be so bad every year.
Crapping the bed is a compliment for both the Steelers and Giants in their home openers. My god were they bad. Money should have been refunded.
I feel bad for Saquon. Never able to really show his ability because of OL. I am a Giant's fan, but knew it was over when we passed over MP in first round. It will be years before Giant's are real contenders. Ouch
This Giants team was mystifying. Did they really have Jones running the football with called plays down 40-0 late in the game? This is a QB they are paying well over $25m to. Other than that, the OL and DL just got bulldozed the entire game. I am not a Giants fan and I was embarrassed. One of the worst NFL performances I've seen in a long, long time.
Jones was 15 of 28 for a total of 104 yards and TWO INTs. He was credited for 13 carries (for 43 yards)
Yeah, they sort of got away with running Jones a lot last year, lot of QB read stuff and designed runs for him. I think it surprised the league a bit because let's face it, nobody confused Jones with Lamar Jackson and coming out of Duke, I don't think the feeling was that was what he was drafted to be. It worked last year.....the league has caught up and let's be honest as PSU fans, bulldozing your QB into the middle of a defense multiple times a game isn't a sustainable model, especially in the NFL. What looked fun last year with the giants feels pathetic this year. I thought they called that offense out of desperation last year, I had no idea it was their ongoing plan.
Agreed. PSU has, maybe, a half dozen tough games a year. The NFL has 17. Well, looks like the Cowboys will only have 15 tough games but I digress. Seems pretty foolish to be running your $200m QB when you are down 40-0. The Bengals took Joe Burrow out of the game with 6 minutes left and down by 21.
