I think Foles is one of the best backup QBs in the league, and could start for a number of teams. But the offense hasn't jelled around him, and he isn't good enough to carry a team by himself.

The extra week should help, but they are going to have to be a lot better if they are going to make a run.

I hope they treat Dallas like the 3rd pre-season game. Play Foles enough to get him the reps he needs with the starters, and then pull him out to minimize the risk of injuries. I would even be ok with pulling him sooner, if it appears that Dallas is taking unnecessary shots at him.

the game was certainly not a thing of beauty. The offense struggled (I think they were 1 of 12 in 3rd down conversions). The D came up with a number of TOs, including the key INT by Darby, but they gave up large amounts of ground to the Raiders' running game, and looked terrible on the TD pass and run to Cooper.

All that said, the Birds did enough to win the game, which locked up home field advantage until the Super Bowl. They'll have to play better in the playoffs to win, but they should be able to work out the kinks. It will help that Wiz should be back at LG by the playoffs.

I think Wiz being out has really effected their offense, so right now on the LHS they are with a back up OT and the third string OG, Not good. For some reason it seemed like some of their LBer fills were a gap off. But other than that, Fly Eagles Fly!!

The timing seemed off with Foles and the receivers. The o line made a bunch of uncharacteristic mistakes/penalties that were costly. Foles did not look comfortable in the pocket at all. He was high on a few balls to Ertz that ended up incomplete and came close to sending Ertz to the hospital.

If they are going to advance in the playoffs they are going to have to convert more 3rd downs, take some shots downfield and have some completetions to receivers.

Any time you lose a guy like Wentz it's going to hurt. Philly has one of the best (if not the best) backup situations in the league. Obviously not ideal and it could take some time to gel but Foles is capable. The Eagles need him to play like Big Ben did on their first SB run. No mistakes. Let the defense and run game carry you.

The Eagle's got the "W" and that is what counts, right Tom?

No points awarded for "style"!!

Going to be an interesting playoff when your #1 seed in the NFC is this shaky. The defense looked awful against the Giants and the offense looked terrible against the Raiders. Hopefully they survive the last game with no injuries and the offense gels in time for the playoffs.

Clearly, one of the main differences with Foles is that there is no respect that he will run. Not so with Wentz, obviously. When Wentz would step up from pocket, safeties and linebackers would react. With Foles, they stay with coverage, so fewer receivers open. A major difference. I'm afraid that this will be the difference in the playoffs. With Wentz, we go all the way. Without, highly unlikely. Its also respect and presence in the huddle. You cannot understate that. Its only natural that guys just give more when they know that their quarterback will give up his body to win.

Take ANY playoff team's starting quarterback away, they're shaky. If the Stillers and Pats lost Ben and Tom, they'd be done. At least Foles has had a lot starts and wins in the NFL.

taking any teams Left Tackle away (Dallas among others) and see what happens, take any teams Left Guard away and see what happens, take any teams starting MLBer away and see what happens.
and you are left with Fly, Eagles, Fly!!

Last year Dallas lost their starting QB and got better.

Not as painful as watching the Raiduhs. Particularly the Raiduh offense. Derek Carr stinks on ice.

The Eagles are a different team without Wentz. Don't think they can hang with the Patriots. Or the Steelers.

How about if the winning AFC team, Stillers or Pats, lose Ben or Tom, late in the title game and have to play the Super Bowl without him? Foles would be better than either replacement.

Foles' delivery is noticeably slower than Wentz's. Perhaps that's a timing issue with the receivers but I seem to recall it from his earlier Eagles' stint.

Well at least he won, both at the end of the LA game, against the Giants and Oakland. I wouldn’t count the Eagles out. One more meaninglessness game against an eliminated Cowboys team and then two weeks to prepare for a home playoff game. Anything can happen.

I would hope they sign some sort of veteran insurance at QB for playoff.

Files is slow & will get hit. If it's scary with him in place, it would be far worse with only 1 QB standing (with no experience).
