We bad-mouthed (er ah bad-typed) Locke and he has come through

with a couple of good performances. We bad-typed Walker and he comes through with game winning hit and then two four hit games. Last evening we bad-typed Polanco and he came through with the winning hit - a triple, no less.

We need to strategize our next target such that we are prepared for tonight's hero, let's bad-type Mercer today. We need to improve his offense some. Pedro appears to be already improving.

I figure that if we can bad-type the right personnel from now to the end of the season, the Pirates will win 80-90 percent of their games. This has to be a group effort.

Regarding Locke, we have to remember that at this time last year he was getting ready to represent the Buc's in the all star game. So the potential is there to get back into a groove... Improvement by him in the 2nd half of the season could be part of what pushes the team past the Cards..

That was 2013, not 2014. This time last year he was using 100+ pitches to get through 4 innings.

It doesn't matter. When we denigrate a Pirate, he comes through for the Team. We have to be merciless and beat-up whomever we need the bump in performance from.
