We return 142 points next year ***

How I think it will look after a month into next year:

125 Suriano, 1st
133 Cortez, 11th
141 Lee, 3rd
149 Retherford, 1st
157 Nolf, 1st
165 Joseph, 2nd
174 Hall, 1st
184 Nickal, 1st
197 Cassar/McCutcheon, 10th
Hwt Nickal, 3rd

Doesn't get any easier for Bo (Zahid), Hall (Jordan), or Joseph (everyone but I. Jordan), but I like their training environment.

This was done with 2 of our starters out for the season by post season. 2 starters is usually high, considering everything. It's common for a team to lose one, but a bit less common for a team to lose two. Happens plenty, but not quite as often as just one.

Think about this, 5 out of the top 7 scorers at the tourney will be returning to PSU, including the top 3, and the other 2 of the 7 scorers that aren't PSU wrestlers, are an Olympic gold and bronze medalist. :D

I cannot imagine Zahid staying at 74, but Jordan isn't going anywhere. Right now, I am wondering if White is coming back for Tan U.

Lee has some work to do on the mat. So not sure about 3rd. I'd go the Hall route and see his RS results first. Bo Pipher and Kade Moss would be fine fill-ins.

Heard he wouldn't be eligible next year. Wasn't an academic qualifier so has to do a probationary year at tOSU first.

It isn't going to be Kade, but there very well could be 2 Bos in the lineup next year.

Here is a clip of Bo, wrestling some other kid named "Tanner", who a lot of people are rooting on, in the first period of a match that apparently, was held in darkness.

I've played rock shows on stages lit worse than that, but the fog in the building is about the same...

So true! There is a lot of talent returning, but we will be in the driver's seat! Our team will continue to mature on and off the mat following Cael's approach to life and the sport of wrestling!
WE ARE! NATIONAL CHAMPS!

Look at 165 next year. Wow.

Some of the Iowa fans are in for a rude awakening with Marinelli next year; he got manhandled the two times he faced a top 10 wrestler. They think just getting a high ranked recruit is automatic success; they will learn what Cael is doing isn't as easy as they think it is, especially in a weight class like 165 next year.

Getting all 5 champs will be a tall order, but additional scoring from 125 and 133 will make us even harder to beat.

I'm not sure we will be improved at 141 or 197, but with the guys in the room we should be competitive again.

Shhh...you might crack the HR echo chamber.

Yeah, but did you consider that Marinelli is undersized?!

More likely they'll just dump on Marinelli.

Deep down I believe any intelligent Iowa fan knows what Cael is doing is a game changer and the sideshow that is Brands is

I wonder how Nick Lee did vs Jimmy this year working out? I'm thinking a year to build strength and gain that experience will make Nick a tough out next year should Cael choose to wrestle him...

Yes, it's like he's already had a redshirt year.

Campbell, Valencia, Matthews, Lewis, and Rogers are all moving up to 74.

No White next year for Ohio state?

I really have no clue. Someone posted that Campbell is going to tOSU. It's been rumored for a couple weeks. Can't imagine they'd take White now. Campbell is probably just as good and will be immediately eligible. They also have Mattox and possibly Carr coming to campus in the near future.

You think Campbell is as good as White? Mkay, I suppose, but that's a bit of a reach right now isn't it?

It's hard to tell. White hasn't wrestled much D1 competition. The guy he beat in the d2 finals was a former OU wrestler who had a losing record while he was there. They both have a close loss to Drew Hughes. White might have a higher ceiling, but Campbell can potentially get them points next year when they need it. I'm not sure that White is eligible to be an academic qualifier for D1 until 18-19.

Anyone have a list of other teams' higher end redshirted wrestlers who will be around in 2018?

Just trying to get an idea of some additions to re weight classes.

Off the top of my head, all I can think of are:

Jason Tsirtsis - Arizona St 49/57?
Chad Red - Nebraska 41?
Adam Coon - Michigan HWT
Bull Marinelli - Iowa 165
