Well this sucks... RIP Sam Shepard (73)*

I'm disappointed to hear this news. Always enjoyed Shepard's acting.
Is anyone on the board familiar with American Masters production of Shepard's True West with Gary Sinise and John Malkovich? The ending is as fine as any single scene in the whole of American theatre. I have his Four Plays in my office. And his Chuck Yeager, I dare you to find a more iconic characterization in cinema of a historical person. He was a true artist. A life well lived.

Great resume from Mr. Shepard. A great American artist; actor, author, director.

...plus he got to play the Hokie-Pokie with Jessica Lange!

I saw True West on Broadway with Philip Seymour Hoffman and John C Reilly. Was incredible. Hoffman was a super actor. He's missed
