In 2014 Penn State had 75 scholarships, in 2015 Penn State had 83 scholarship players. In 2015 we averaged 23 points a game, got beat up pretty good by Temple, Ohio State, Michigan State.
In 2016 we were transitioning to a new offensive coordinator from a 1-AA school and a QB most thought didn’t have the size or skill set to be a D1 QB.
After September 2016 and losses to Pitt and Michigan with how the last couple years went and coupled with the scholarship reductions that hurt our experienced player depth....things weren’t exactly looking up.
Since then PSU is 19-3, has a big ten championship, was screwed out of a final 4 berth in 2016 and was 1 point away in 2017 from a second strait Big Ten East title and a chance to play into the final 4 again.
We can always want more but I am very excited where we are at right now and where we are going. No one could have seen this after September 2016. PSU has a great home schedule in 2018. Home schedule in 2018, Ohio State, Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan State. We are 20-1 our last 21 home games and haven’t lost in 2 years at home. If we take care of our home field in 2018 we will again be right back in the thick of things next year. We have a lot to looks forward to....Rahne is a smart guy, he surely has some things he has been crafting up in that press box. Strong finish to our 2018 recruiting and our best class in a very long time. The trajectory of this program is very steep upward
