What does Mike Mauti think of return to no names on jerseys?

Mike says:
“I think that’s what Penn State’s been about. It’s never been about one single guy. That’s the philosophy that Joe [Paterno] had and that’s what makes Penn State a special place. It’s one of those traditional uniforms that’s classic and it’s been for a long time. I think it’s great that coach Franklin did this.”
"Now that we’ve moved on a couple years from that I think it’s important that Penn State goes back to what it has always been and that’s never been about one person."

I'd love to see Mike come back here and coach some day. I think he'd be great. I know he'd be a great recruiter as he and Zordich were instrumental in re-recruiting in 2012. And I'd love to see the look on Beckman's face if that were to ever happen.

Mike will go down as one of the all-time PSU greats, when all is said and done. He will be a mythic figure when the history of that sordid period is finally written.

No doubt. At that age, stepping to the plate like he did, was quite awe inspiring.

Here's hoping the remainder of his life is more of the same.

Well, Beckman will be hard to track down for an opinion.....his coaching days (at least at U of I) are counting down very quickly.
