Probably a stupid question with an easy answer, but why did UWW decide to cancel Senior Worlds (every age group actually) yet are still holding this individual World cup in Serbia? Was it a location/severity issue?
I believe it's because countries like the US and Japan dropped out, think they needed a certain % of top countries for it to be official. So they shifted gears and salvaged what they had organized.
Which wasn't actually on the schedule to begin with. The plugged one in after the Olympics were postponed, so it's not like this was something that had years of planning go into it. A number of the top nations opted out.
