What is the scam? I cant figure it out...

Maybe they want the hotel for a “film shoot”, and are using pre-paid cards.
Call your bank and get to the bottom of it or tell him the card is getting declined and you will need to reach out to the card provider for assistance. Whatever you do, don’t process it he transaction.

No way am I processing the transaction. This guy isnt coming. I delete his reservation, deleted the email, and he is done. If he were to show up by some crazy notion..... If he pays me cash... he can rent the rooms.
I just got back yesterday from a 5 day visit. This place is as Awesome as described on the website. You will not be disappointed, I guarantee it!
The bolded part is a huge red flag. That verbiage is commonly used by third country nationals involved in scams.
Think that was used by a Big 10(14) official talking to a QB of ours a few years back: “You are lucky you are even playing football, my dear!”
Sometimes you get lucky and are offered the opportunity to make some real coin:

Follow up- I cancelled the guys reservation on the 19th a day before he was going to show up.
I deleted all his emails. In doing so, I realized another flag....20+ emails to set a reservation is nuts.
Lots of good information in this thread. Thanks everyone. I caught some red flags and posters pointed out others.
The Fenix Hotel is not big so every reservation is important. No reservation is worth a credit card issue, a scam, or getting hacked.
